Boston College: Emily Field is on a five game point streak dating back to last season (5-2-7)...The Eagles outshot BU, 31-28 and went a perfect 7-for-7 on the penalty kill in the loss on Friday night at Conte Forum...BC will play four of its next five contests at home.

Boston University: No. 6 Boston University became the first team to post a victory in league play…The Terriers have now won their last nine league games dating back to Jan. 21, 2012…BU is now 7-0-1 in its last eight league games at Conte Forum, outscoring the Eagles, 27-8, in that stretch…The Terriers have started each of the last two seasons with a win against a ranked opponent…BU defeated No. 7 North Dakota, 4-1, last season…Kerrin Sperry is 3-0-0 in three season debuts, posting a 1.66 GAA…Ten different Terriers recorded a point on Friday, with freshman Sarah Lefort (2g) and junior Marie-Philip Poulin (2a) the only multiple-point scorers…Lefort and freshman Jordan Juron each collected their first collegiate goal, while freshman Rebecca Russo notched her first collegiate assist…The Terriers erased a four-goal deficit on Saturday to earn a 4-4 tie with the Boston Blades in an exhibition game.

University of Connecticut: Sophomore Rachel Farrel notched the first multi-goal game of her career with a pair of scores, including a game-tying goal, at RPI on Friday night...Freshmen Brittany Berisoff and Michela Cava each recorded their first collegiate goals...Junior transfer Sarah Moses made 27 saves in her Husky debut on Saturday...Sophomore Sarah MacDonnell totaled three points on one goal and two assists for the weekend

University of Maine: The Black Bears took a 4-0 win over Dalhousie in an exhibition game. Maine saw three freshman score goals; Shawna Lesperance, Abbey Cook, and Jillian Langtry. Brittany Dougherty tallied an assist in the game, starting the season where she left off last season as she led the Black Bears in points. Kylie Smith and Meghann Treacy split action in goal is they combined for a shutout with nine saves on the afternoon.

University of New Hampshire: The Wildcats opened up the 2012-13 season with a 2-0 record on the road. Six newcomers tallied at least one goal on the weekend while an additional six players recorded points as well. The Wildcats killed 11 of 12 power plays and tallied a pair of power play goals. New Hampshire opens up conference play against Vermont at home in its next contest on October 16.

Northeastern University: Northeastern improved to 25-5-3 all-time in season openers, and is 26-3-5 in October contests since 2008…Paige Savage’s first period goal at Colgate marked the second straight season that a freshman has scored NU’s first goal of the year…The last time NU shutout an opponent in a season opener was on Oct. 13, 2001 against Mercyhurst…Northeastern’s four first period goals against Syracuse are the most since Jan. 21, 2012 against New Hampshire…Rachel Llanes tied a career-high with three points (1g, 2a) against Syracuse…The Huskies will play nine of their next 10 games at home, beginning on Friday against Union.

Providence College: The Friars scored seven goals in two game series against Bemidji, out shooting the Beavers 52-41 on the weekend. Freshman Sarah Bryant tallied her first win in the net for the Friars, making 12 saves. Senior Jessica Vella scored two goals, including the game winner, in their win over Bemidji. Senior Nicole Anderson tallied three points on two goals and one assist on the weekend. Freshman Molly Illikainen also recorded three points on the weekend with one goal and two assists. 10 different Friars had their name on the scoresheet during the weekend series.

University of Vermont: Head Coach Jim Plumer picked up his first Division I win Sunday as the Catamounts defeated Penn State…Sophomore Danielle Rancourt scored her first career game-winning goal in the third period for Vermont…The Catamounts special teams were excellent this weekend, they were a perfect 7-for-7 on the penalty kill, and were 3-for-5 on the power play…Senior goaltender Kelci Lanthier earned her fourth career win on Sunday with 19 saves…Freshman defenseman Dayna Colang registered her first career point with an assist Saturday...Vermont set an opening day attendance record on Saturday with 785.

At the conclusion of each Hockey East league game, the Hockey East “Army ROTC Three Stars of The Game” are selected. Congratulation’s to Northeastern goaltender Florence Schelling for winning last years award. Schelling was named a No. 1 star four times on the year and was one of the three stars in 12 games for the Huskies. Here are the leaders for the 2011-2012 season.
