Term 4, Week 2 Monday 11 October 2021

Dates to Remember…

Welcome Back to Term 4 We are very happy to be back at school, even though it is through learning from home. It has been wonderful to start to reconnect with our students and families. As you will have heard, the dates for our staged return to school have changed. They are as follows:

• Monday 18 October - Kindergarten and Year 1 students, including those K/1 students in the support classes.

• Monday 25 October – all other grades, including students in the support classes.

There is some detailed information attached to the newsletter about the arrangements that will be in place to keep our community safe. More information will be available on Facebook and Seesaw late next week. We absolutely can’t wait to see our wonderful students again, we know it has been very difficult for our families, but it’s very challenging to be a teacher without kids in front of you! We understand that there will be a transition period of getting used to class routines and have additional staff available to support our students in re-engaging in face-to-face learning. ALL staff who are at school from the 18 October will be fully vaccinated. At this stage there are

no external visitors allowed on site, and this includes therapists who normally visit students at school. We will continue to give you the most up to date information as it comes through.

Staffing News I am very pleased to welcome Miss Bates back to WPS. Miss Bates will be at school each Monday and Tuesday supporting the learning in Kindergarten and Year 1.

I would also like to share the wonderful news that Mrs Nisbet had a healthy baby boy on Thursday. His name is Oliver and weighed in at a whopping 8lb, 11.5oz (3.96kg). Oliver’s big sister Willow is smitten.

Thompson’s Pie Drive Delivery date- Thursday 14 October. A massive thank you to Mrs Wilson for her work in arranging the tricky situation of organising the pie drive during a lockdown. We have a crew of staff ready to organise and pack the orders this Thursday. You will receive a text message to arrange a time for contactless pick up from the school. We hope you enjoy it.
