Page Management in Word Press

Word Press is a popular content management system for building informational websites, blogging

websites and ecommerce stores. Wordpress have built in content type more precisely speaking

post types in wordpress nomenclature.

Here we will be demonstrating how to manage different post types like page, posts, and categories

in wordpress admin section.

We will start with wordpress post type page.

Creating a WordPress Page:

1. To get started adding a new page to your WordPress site, find the Pages menu in the WordPress Dashboard Navigation menu. Click Add new.

2. Add the title of the page, like About Us.

3. In the next step add some content in the editor.

4. On the right sidebar there is an option to set featured image for your page, just upload one

image by clicking on the Set featured image link.

5. Some WordPress themes have custom page templates, so the next Template section allows

you to apply a template to your new page.

6. The Order box allows you to order your page numerically. Pages are usually ordered

alphabetically, but you can choose your own order by entering a number in this field.

7. Once you are done with the above stuff Preview the page, you can publish the page by

clicking on the publish button. If you are not looking to publish the page you can use the

save draft button to save as draft which can be published later.

Editing a WordPress Page:

1. In order to edit page in wordpress find the Pages menu item on Dashboard navigation menu. Look the below screen shot.

2. As per the above screen-shot you can see all the existing pages. In order to edit any page just move the cursor to the respected title you will get an edit link, click that link.

3. In the next step we will get the Edit Page for the corresponding page, in our example it’s for About Us page.

4. The UI is similar to the create page UI, do the changes and press Update Button. Doing this will publish the page.

Deleting a WordPress Page:

1. To delete a wordpress page simply navigate to Pages menu in the admin dashboard

navigation menu

2. Navigate the page you want to delete.

3. In the title area there is an option named as Thrash, click this link.

4. The page is moved to the trash (means the page is no longer active)
