Rev. Thomas James Brown, Bishop of Maine Anthony Sousa, Senior Warden The Rev. Mary-Carol Griffin, Deacon Senior Wardens Notes October, 2020 A lot of things have been going on during the past few weeks and I want to report them to you. Your Search Committee has been active in reviewing the present applicants. We are fortunate to have 12 candidates. We are in the process of reviewing and then com- bining our thoughts with St. Saviours and St. Johns teams. It is the start of the pro- cess. Pray that we may call a leader that will be able to guide us through our contin- uing process of joining hands with our MDI Episcopal partners. The Rectory is being shown regularly by our Realtor, Gail Caruso. We will keep you informed as we proceed with the showings. The Joint YouTube Sunday services have been well done. We are blessed to have three wonderful priests who combine their talents, along with many church members who take part in the services, as well as the mu- sicians from all four churches. We hope to be able to continue these online services after we are back in our churches, holding our live services once again. The future online services will be an aid for those of us who are unable to come to Sunday services. I have had fun with the Music & Chatter program that we started 22 weeks ago. Thank you to all our devot- ed fans! Our Guestshave been wonderful, with a wide variety of music. If you have any ideas about guests or programs, please let me know. A big thank you to Jim Vallette and Jayne Ashworth for producingthese programs. It takes them a lot of time and without them we would not be able to have Mu- sic & Chatter. What can we do to bring us together? One of our churches has decided to have small groups meet by zoom, sort of like a Coffee Hour. Groups of nine, in their case, will try this approach. Should we try this? Please, some feedback is very welcome. Our prayer chain is functioning beautifully. Thank you Mary McEnroe. It is indeed a Blessing. Our Vestry meets every month and is working on several projects. An audit is being scheduled with David Hawkes heading that effort. Brad Berry is working on combining our Finance and Investment Commit- tees. Sue is working on refitting the wonderful painting that Jan Biggers did for us. The Building and Grounds Committee is working on keeping our property well maintained. A big thank you to Ken Linscott for his tireless work at keeping us looking great! Our Junior Warden is working on projects that have needed attention. Joanne Sousa is looking into replacing many of the folding chairs for the parish hall. Many of the old chairs have welds broken and are dangerous. I think that is enough news for now. If anyone has ideas that would help bring us together in a proper way, let s talk about it. Blessings, Tony Sousa

Senior Warden’s Notes October, 2020 A lot of things have been going on during the past few weeks and I want to report them to you.

• Your Search Committee has been active in reviewing the present applicants. We are fortunate to have 12 candidates. We are in the process of reviewing and then com-bining our thoughts with St. Saviour’s and St. John’s teams. It is the start of the pro-cess. Hawkes heading that effort. Brad Berry is working on combining our Finance and Investment Commit-tees. Sue is working on refitting the wonderful painting that Jan Biggers did for us. Standing alone…

I had a sense of sadness for our beautiful Church the other day, while thinking about how lonely it must be. For the first time in 130 years the doors are locked, folks are not running in and out, phones not ringing, smiling secretary gone, no laughter and hugs in the halls to greet our summer parish-ioners, no good smells from the kitchen, no music and singing within its walls and no Com-munion with loving faces at its altar. There it is, standing alone. Time goes by. I bet others in our Church family and our Partnership Churches feel the same loneli-ness. We are blessed with beautiful weather, calls from friends, wonderful MDI Episcopal YouTube Services, and “Music and Chatter” by Tony. We all anxiously await the day when we may be together once again and our little Church will be happy.

Joanne Sousa

What a great MDI Episcopal Parishes meeting we had with Bishop Brown in June! Eve-ryone had the chance to connect and to express thoughts and concerns. Zoom may not be perfect, but it beats not seeing each other at all! Thank you, Bishop Brown!

Barbara Linscott along with her co-worker Liz Libby started making a few COVID-19 masks for friends. The word got out on Facebook and before they knew it, it was almost a full time job! They have now made over 650 masks and Barbara has several orders for children's masks at pre-sent. Customers make donations to the Bar Har-bor Food Pantry and they have been generous. Barbara has now donated $1,700.00 so far to the pantry in Memory of Bill Krenicki. Bill is smiling down on them for sure. Wonderful job girls!!

The happy sounds of song, prayer and laughter could be heard on the grounds of Church of Our Father this summer. Youth and Family Ministry presented our first in person lessons since March. The mini VBS introduced the book of Exodus and followed lessons that have been mailed and delivered to our cur-rent Sunday School students through-out the spring and summer. The com-mittee followed strict social distancing and sanitizing rules. We will continue to monitor changes in this policy and pray that we can offer more opportunities like this.

Remember the Operation Christmas Child Program!

It is exciting to see the boxes fill up for needy children around the world! This is a wonderful way to be a missionary to places we cannot go ourselves. Contact Marilyn Kitler with any questions. .
