A film distributor is people responsible for the advertising of a film. Theses are a few of the main ones 20th Century Fox, Altitude Film Distribution, Arrow Films, Axiom Films, Curzon Artificial Eye, Dogwoof, Entertainment Film Distributors and Entertainment One UKJohnny English reborn was distributed by Universal Pictures. This company would have been used to get the film global. if a production company uses a big disruption company like universal it means the have a high budget and they want to get the film advertised and released across the world, it was successful in getting global because it was realised in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany and China along with other countries.

One of the five people said they heard about it through posters and word of moth but the majority heard about it on TV, this indicates the way it was advertised was mainly through TV adverts and interviews with the actors which stared in the film, this is a below line type of advertising because it doesn’t cost the distribution company any money. When they where asked only 3 out of the 5 said they had watched the trailer, which indicates the distribution company didn’t spend lots of money on making a trailer and getting it out there for everyone to see.Three out of the five people said they watched the film at home on a DVD or Netflix and the others said they watched it at the cinema, this indicates that most people nowadays prefer to wait for a film to come out on DVD or stream it on Netflix so they can watch it at home rather than pay for a cinema ticket so they can watch it at the cinema. One of them said they would give it a 9/10 and the others said they would rate it as 8/10 because they thought it should have been more action then comedy and they actors where really good. This indicates that although they thought it was a good film it could have been better and that one of the only reasons they thought it was a good film was the fact that Rowan Atkinson starred in it. They all said they had seen other films that Rowan Atkinson had starred in, three of them said they had seen Mr Bean and the other two said they had seen Black Adder. This shows every one has seen at least one film starring Rowan Atkinson and that he has done mainly comedy.

The role of the bbfc is to give films a rating based on the content of the film. When a film has been rated it will either have a u, pg, 12a, 12, 15 or if it has content unsuitable for young viewers it will get an 18 and if it is very bad it will get a r18. films are rated by examiners who look at the context of the film, normally 2 different examiners will rate the film but if the don’t agree or the films has legal issues the decision will go to the Director and Presidential team. When rating a film the examiners will look at discrimination, drugs, horror, imitable behaviour, language, sexual activity , theme and violence when making decisions.

The Advertising Standards Authority started in 1962 to adjudicate on complaints that advertisements had breached the CAP Code (Committee of Advertising Practice) and regulate the content of advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing in the UK. The big company Apple has been involved on 2 major cases with the ASA, the first one in 2004 was for claims that the Power Mac G5 was the world's fastest personal computer which was judged to be unsubstantiated and the second one was about an advert that claimed the new iPhone could access all of the Internet, the advert was eventually banned because of its lack of support of major plug-ins such as Flash.
