Over the years the France has been coming into contact with more and more problems concerning the immigration policies and illegal immigration from North Africa. “(Sarkozy’s) obsession is to reduce the flow of immigrants coming legally from North Africa and Africa,” (Sign on San Diego ¶ 5) As we can see the French Immigration Problem is a serious issue and needs to be looked at by asking two questions, What is the French Immigration Problem? And how can we fix this problem? (End illegal immigration)

People have been traveling from all over Africa to France in search of a better life for them and their children. Although this better life includes breaking the law, and living in France as an illegal immigrant. This is bad for France as it over populates their country, the money that is earned from working in France is being sent back home to their families, hurting France’s economy, and taking jobs that could be given to the legal workers in France.

In 2007 France has taken a firmer approach to the immigration issue. Immigration Minister Brice Hortefeux had broadcasted a plan to offer financial inducements for legal Immigrants to move back to Africa. And Nicolas Sarkozy had established the Controversial Ministry of Immigration. (Choe ¶6). Another key item to help stop illegal immigration to France, is to stop legalizing illegal citizens within their boarders. This helps stop the illegal immigrants continuing to live in France if they were to get rejected for any particular reason. Because of these new strict policies the Weekly Standard had said that even French-Speaking African immigrants are increasingly choosing Spain over France (Choe ¶6). As you can see, these tough policies and laws are helping to control the amount of illegal immigrants migrating into France.

Its hard to give examples of how to end illegal immigration, and how we can say “If we do this, this, this, and this we can end illegal immigration!” But the fact is, we will never be able to end illegal immigration, and it will always be something that the world struggles with. Although, there are something’s we can do to help make illegal citizens, legal citizens. We have already started doing this by opening the boarders. This helps the flow of illegal aliens, and helps us keep track of who is coming in to the country. We can also make the legal process faster, make it easier to come over the boarder legally, and make it a felony for companies to hire illegal immigrants. Starting off with making the legal process faster, and making it easier to come over the boarder legally, these two things will help encourage Africans and other citizens of the world who turn to France for hope of a better life to earn a citizenship to France. This is not only a benefit for themselves but also a benefit for France. It gives them a sense of peace for knowing that they wont be shipped back home at any waking moment, and helps France as they would be tax paying citizens with a stable job. Lastly by making it a felony for any company to hire an illegal immigrant will help end illegal immigration as no one would find a job. It would scare the company owners into not hiring any illegal immigrants for fear of shutting their company down and going to prison, and people looking to migrate to France would think twice about it if they knew they weren’t going to get a job.

As we know France is a country that does struggle with illegal immigration from around the world, but working together and applying three small steps to solve illegal immigration and encourage people to get a citizenship.

Young Spaniards lit fires and stoned the police in a Madrid suburb over the weekend after fighting with Latin American gang members they blame for beatings, murders and rapes in and around the capital.

Spanish youths rampaged through Alcorcón on Sunday looking for Latin Americans and shouting: "Latin Kings out! We're coming for them! We are going to kill them!"

The weekend brawls marked an escalation in tension between young Latin Americans and indigenous Spaniards who say immigrant gangs like the Latin Kings are responsible for a rise in violent crime.

Despite the highest rate of immigration in Europe, Spain has largely avoided tensions between immigrants and the native population.

If European societies rise to this challenge, immigration will enrich and strengthen them. If they fail to do so, the result may be declining living standards and

European societies need immigrants

Without immigration, the population of the soon-to-be twenty-five Member States of the EU will drop, from about 450 million now to under 400 million in 2050.

We can be sure that people from other continents will go on wanting to come and live in Europe. In today’s unequal world, vast numbers of Asians and Africans lack the opportunities for self-improvement that most Europeans take for granted

All countries have the right to decide whether to admit voluntary migrants (as opposed to bona fide refugees, who have a right to protection under international law). But Europeans would be unwise to close their doors.

social division.Managing migration is not only a matter of opening doors and joining hands internationally. It also requires each country to do more to integrate new arrivals. Immigrants must adjust to their new societies – and societies need to adjust too.

tremendous contribution that millions of immigrants have already made to modern European societies. Many have become leaders in government, science, academia, sports and the arts. Others are less famous but play an equally vital role. Without them, many health systems would be short-staffed, many parents would not have the home help they need to pursue careers, and many jobs that provide services and generate revenue would go unfilled. Immigrants are part of the solution, not part of the problem.

In this twenty-first century, migrants need Europe. But Europe also needs migrants. A closed Europe would be a meaner, poorer, weaker, older Europe. An open Europe will be a fairer, richer, stronger, younger Europe – provided Europe manages immigration well.

Italy's interior minister, a member of the xenophobic Northern League, has sent armedcarabinieri to clear out camps of jobless migrants in Naples and other parts of the south. In Britain, Tory leader David Cameron recently promised that if his party wins upcoming elections he'll slash immigration by 75 percent—and that's on top of the visa quotas imposed last year by the current Labour government. Ahead of key regional elections in France, President Nicolas Sarkozy has launched a noisy debate about "French identity." Switzerland has outlawed minarets, and France, not to be outdone, is considering a ban on burqas.

Europe has ended up with 85 percent of all unskilled migrants to the developed countries but only 5 percent of the highly skilled. Compare that with the United States, which has

Millions of refugees were legally barred from working, which forced them into squalid welfare dependency.

The danger is that Europe's worsening hostility toward foreigners will halt or even reverse efforts to assimilate those who are already there, spawning a fast--growing, permanent underclass
