Country of Poland to be Focus of Upcoming “The Royal Tour" TV Special from Peter Greenberg
Special Will Air on PBS in February 2019
Warsaw, Poland - September XX, 2018 - It was revealed today that the country of Poland will be the subject of the next edition of the Royal Tour TV series - a groundbreaking series of television specials, produced and hosted by award-winning journalist Peter Greenberg, showcasing nations in a way no visitor has ever seen them before.
The popular global show features various heads of state giving Greenberg and viewers a personal tour of their country. Guided by some of the most dynamic and powerful heads of state, Greenberg journeys deep inside each country to offer viewers access to extraordinary locations, historic landmarks and cultural experiences.
In Poland, it will be Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki guiding Greenberg over the course of a week, traveling throughout the country, giving viewers a unique, personalized glimpse into Poland, the ninth largest country in Europe with a booming economy.
Shooting will take place in October and the special will air on PBS in February 2019. Specific locations and details of the experiences audiences will see are being kept under wraps.
Global viewers will see that Poland has more than they might think: beautiful coastal beaches and sand dunes, glacier-carved lake districts, lowlands as flat as a pancake, splendid forests, old and new mountains (including the only table-like mountains in Europe), even a desert.
In Poland, visitors can see Europe’s biggest shifting sand dunes, walk through a labyrinth carved out in stone, come across a bison in the last primary forest on the continent, and find kilometres of ski slopes and horse riding trails.
The deal to bring The Royal Tour to Poland was brokered by Piotr Sliwowski, who leads the Polish National Foundation - a nonprofit organization funded by a consortium of state-owned Polish companies. The mission of the Warsaw-based organization, which backs film, television, music, educational and sports projects, is to promote Poland’s cultural heritage, celebrate its achievements, and support its growth
Sliwowski will lead production efforts in Poland on The Royal Tour, working in tandem with Greenberg’s production company, Peter Greenberg Worldwide.

Peter Greenberg produces and hosts the series, which aired originally on the Travel Channel. The Royal Tour has featured a number of world leaders including New Zealand's Helen Clark, Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, Abdullah II of Jordan, and Peru's Alejandro Toledo.
The series now airs on PBS, having re-launched in 2010 with Mexico: The Royal Tour with Mexican President Felipe Calderon taking Greenberg on a journey across the country.

The much anticipated "Poland: The Royal Tour" travel special is set for a sweeping three city U.S. premiere tour that will see the film World Premiere in Los Angeles on April 15th, followed by Chicago on April 16th and ending in New York City on April 17th.
"Poland: The Royal Tour" is a unique travel film made by world renowned journalist Peter Greenberg, together with the Polish National Foundation, for PBS. The host and star of the film is none other than the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki.
In the special, audiences will get an up-close look at, among other cities, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow, Wieliczka, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Malbork, Gdynia and the Swi^tokrzyskie Mountains.
"The Royal Tour" is a series of exceptional documentary films depicting the history, culture and nature of the most interesting countries in the world. The unusual attraction of the one-hour program is primarily testified by its founder’s formula - the guide leading the audience is the incumbent head of state or government. Previous editions of "The Royal Tour" were realized, among others in Israel, Mexico and Jordan.
The creators of the series are Peter Greenberg, television star of CBS and PBS, Emmy® Award winner, also known as 'The Travel Detective" (CBS News) and Mitchell Cannold, producer of documentaries, winner of the Producers Guild of America award, and Emmy® Award nominee in the category of outstanding documentary series.
The organization of the shoots throughout the country, with the participation of the incumbent prime minister, proved to be a monumental logistical and organizational challenge that the production team overcame. The shoots tool place in the period from September - November, by three operator teams, having at their disposal, among other devices, drones and helicopters for aerial photography with a CINEFLEX camera.
Said Filip Rdesinski, President of the Polish National Foundation, “It is really a great success that we managed to convince producers to implement the program "The Royal Tour" in Poland. We are really looking forward to the premiere in Los Angeles. The film is phenomenal and we hope that audiences around the world will get to know Poland in a way they have never known before.”
The Polish producer of the film is Piotr C. Sliwowski (VES Nominee Award, Golden Reel Award MPSE, Polish Film Academy), producer of such films as "City of Ruins" and “Warsaw Uprising "- the official candidate for the Academy Award® in 2014.
The official premieres of the film "Poland: The Royal Tour" will take place at the American Academy of Movies, Arts and Science in Los Angeles (April 15), The Lyric Opera in Chicago (April 16) and the Guggenheim Museum in New York (April 17).
The film will be broadcast on 354 PBS stations in the U.S.
