WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God with great

thanksgiving that "His faithfulness continues through all generations." -Psalm 100:5Byron and Anne Morris

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.* The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ............................................................. Isaiah 6:7Behold, your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.

†The Response—There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood ............................... Fountain

The Corporate Confession of Sin

Eternal and Almighty Father, you are holy, holy, holy and the whole earth is full of your glory. Bowing before you, we humbly acknowledge that we are full of sin and unworthy to stand in your presence. We have lost our way by following the ways of the world, and we have neglected your way of mercy, justice and truth. We are a people of unclean lips, lips that do not praise you, nor honor you as we should; we lie and we assault others with our speech instead of building them up. We have taken your name in vain. Our hearts are dull to your Word; we are slow to obey and indifferent to your commands. Our ears are often closed off to the truth, and we refuse to listen to your indwelling Spirit. Forgive all of our sins we pray, on account of Christ our Savior. We need your cleansing touch to make us whole. Amen. from Isaiah 6

(Sung by all)There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream thy flowing wounds supply,Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die;Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

The Offertory—What a Friend We Have In Jesus ...........................................Scriven

*Online giving is available at firstpresaugusta.org and at the giving kiosk

Words: Joseph Scriven, c. 1855 | Music: BEACH SPRING, The Sacred Harp, 1844 | Arr. Gilbert Martin | ©1983 Hinshaw Music

What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer!O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share?Jesus knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, Cumbered with a load of care?Precious Savior, still our refuge: Take it to the Lord in prayer.Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms he’ll take and shield thee; Thou wilt find a solace there.

The Shorter Catechism, Question 19:

Q. What is the misery of man’s fallen condition?

A. By their fall, all mankind lost fellowship with God and brought his anger and curse on themselves. They are, therefore, subject to all the miseries of this life, to death itself, and to the pains of hell forever.
