Swansea University will be holding two Summer Work placement schemes this year. Firstly, we have our established ‘Week of Work’ (WoW) programme (running between June 10 th -14 th 2013), which provides students with the chance to undertake a week of work experience at a relevant employer. Additionally, this Summer the University is planning to offer a limited number of 6-week paid internships to Week of Work applicants under our Swansea Paid Internship Network (SPIN) initiative (entry requirements may apply). You will also receive a payment from the University towards your travel fares and lunches. The sort of experience you will receive will be at graduate level and could be: The chance to shadow a senior member of staff to help you understand their role Work within a specialist area of the business to build your knowledge and experience The opportunity to spend each day experiencing different work aspects in the organisation you work within. What will a work placement do for you? Get to know an employer who may offer future contacts and placement opportunities An opportunity to develop your commercial awareness inside exciting organisations and industries Participation will count towards your Swansea Employability Award (SEA).
