� Private sector HR spreads leadership development across all levels - less so in public and voluntary

� 2/3rds of HR Leaders said leadership development was not limited due to level in org'n

� Employees work around poor managers; findings answers and help from peers

� Middle and junior managers struggle with clarity on targets & feel unsupported by senior leaders in meeting team objectives

� Only 41% of managers feel that team needs over their own is part of their job

� Employees desire more caring managers

� Empathy and selflessness is not currently part of the behavioural expectations for mananagers

� Biggest skill gap in managers is managing difficult conversations

� Only 11% of HR professionals feel they should evaluate effectiveness of leaders

� Nearly half HR professionals said their exec team doesn't recognise leadership development as key for their organisation success
