HATHAWAY SUCCESS STORIES
10
Katy Lynn WellsIs a graduate of Cheyenne Central High School and a current University of Wyoming student majoring in Communication with minors in International Studies and Marketing.
how hathaway helped
“Hathaway has made higher education not only accessible to me, but it has made it a journey rather than a burden. I have been able to make plans to study abroad, enjoy extracurriculars, join clubs and be a part of student organizations because Hathaway relieved so much of the financial pressure to get several jobs to pay for school.
Your college experience is ultimately up to you. It doesn’t matter where you end up, your future story is in your hands. So get involved, meet a lot of different people, and never underestimate your potential.”
DALTON AULLMANIs a graduate of Star Valley High School where hecompleted 3 years of welding and is now enrolledin the Diesel Technology program at WesternWyoming Community College.
how hathaway helped“The Hathaway Scholarship was well worth my time and effort in high school. The scholarship has paid for most of my schooling at WWCC. I only had to write a $250 check for my 1st semester in college.”
HATHAWAY SUCCESS STORIES
Derrek JerredIs a graduate of Campbell County High School and the University of Wyoming. He is currently the Business Development Specialist at Cheyenne LEADS.

how hathaway helped“The Hathaway Program helped me believe that the state of Wyoming cared about me as a high school student going to college. A program investing dollars into me was huge. There really wasn’t another option when I looked at where I was going to continue my education and be debt free.”
HANS HUNTIs a rancher from Newcastle, and the first ever member of the legislature to go to college on the Hathaway Scholarship. He is currently serving his third term and is the House Majority Whip.
how hathaway helped“Because of the Hathaway, I was able to get all the way through my undergrad degree at UW without ever having to take out a student loan. Between it and a good summer job, I paid almost my entire way through school myself. This relieved me of having to work during the school year, which in turn meant I had time to run for the legislature while still in college.
No matter your interests or dreams, they should always be pursued. The Hathaway gives you a huge boost in making those dreams become a reality.”

dear students,
In 2005, the state of Wyoming developed a program to give each Wyoming student the opportunity to attend college. The Wyoming legislature honored former Governor Stanley K. Hathaway by developing a scholarship program from the permanent Mineral Trust Fund he set up. Because of this Trust Fund, every year the state of Wyoming is able to invest over $16 million dollars and over 5,500 scholarships to students to help them go to college in Wyoming.
Wyoming students have a unique opportunity unlike any other state and the information here will help you get your Hathaway Scholarship! Every Wyoming student has the opportunity to use the Hathaway Scholarship. Don’t miss out; make sure you’re one of them!
Talk to your school counselor or go to hathawayscholarships.org for more information.
Sincerely,
The hathaway scholarship team
