Jazz NYSSMA levels seems un-comparable to classical NYSSMA levelsAccording to precedent, we have allowed well-written original arrangements that do
not reduce or diminish the quality of the original composition, which in this case, was just a melody line etude for every instruement. The composer comissioned the arranger to write an arrangement for piano. He believes this is an authentic piano
composition, and the teacher submitting this agrees. Moreover, we have accepted 'arranged' repertoire that holds its own as original
compositions before, such as Grieg's In The Hall of the Mountain King (originally for piano duet, known orchestrally), Senorita Elisa (a Latin take on Fur Elise), and
many others. Our policy regarding arrangements should not disqualify this selection. Our policy reads: No transcriptions (unless by an original composer), reductions, simplified or abridged versions are allowed. Exceptions must be approved by the
repertoire committee before the application deadline.pp. 45-49 in the IMSLP PDF document, but starts on the page printed as p. 46 on the score

Jazz NYSSMA levels seems un-
comparable to classical NYSSMA
levelsAccording to
precedent, we have allowed well-written
original arrangements that do not reduce or diminish the quality of
the original composition, which in this case, was just a melody line etude for every instruement.
The composer comissioned the
arranger to write an arrangement for
piano. He believes this is an authentic piano composition,
and the teacher submitting this
agrees. Moreover, we have accepted 'arranged' repertoire that holds its own as original
compositions before, such as Grieg's In
The Hall of the Mountain King
(originally for piano duet, known orchestrally),
Senorita Elisa (a Latin take on Fur Elise), and many others. Our policy
regarding arrangements should
not disqualify this selection.
Our policy reads: No transcriptions (unless
by an original composer),
reductions, simplified or abridged versions
are allowed. Exceptions must be
approved by the repertoire committee before the application
deadline.

Jazz NYSSMA levels seems un-
comparable to classical NYSSMA
levelsAccording to
precedent, we have allowed well-written
original arrangements that do not reduce or diminish the quality of
the original composition, which in this case, was just a melody line etude for every instruement.
The composer comissioned the
arranger to write an arrangement for
piano. He believes this is an authentic piano composition,
and the teacher submitting this
agrees. Moreover, we have accepted 'arranged' repertoire that holds its own as original
compositions before, such as Grieg's In
The Hall of the Mountain King
(originally for piano duet, known orchestrally),
Senorita Elisa (a Latin take on Fur Elise), and many others. Our policy
regarding arrangements should
not disqualify this selection.
Our policy reads: No transcriptions (unless
by an original composer),
reductions, simplified or abridged versions
are allowed. Exceptions must be
approved by the repertoire committee before the application
deadline.

According to precedent, we have allowed well-written original arrangements that do not reduce or diminish the quality of the original composition, which in this case, was just a melody line
etude for every instruement. The composer comissioned the arranger to write an arrangement for piano. He believes this is an authentic piano composition, and the teacher submitting this
agrees. Moreover, we have accepted 'arranged' repertoire that holds its own as original compositions
before, such as Grieg's In The Hall of the Mountain King (originally for piano duet, known orchestrally), Senorita Elisa (a Latin take on Fur Elise), and many others. Our policy regarding
arrangements should not disqualify this selection. Our policy reads: No transcriptions (unless by an original composer), reductions, simplified or
abridged versions are allowed. Exceptions must be approved by the repertoire committee before the application deadline.
