OCTOBER 10TH Dear Brothers and Sisters, Dear Families, Thank you to those who are willing to give their testimony. Thank you to those who gladdened us with your beauty, this is the path that leads to God. Beauty leads us to God and the truth takes us to God, because God also is truth, beauty, and truth. And a witness giving in order to serve is thoroughly good it makes us good people because God is goodness, all that is good; all that is beautiful leads us to God because God is good, God is beautiful, God is true. Thank you all those who have offered their witness and for the presence of all of you that is a great witness. A real witness it is worth being a family. That the society is strong, it’s solid if it is edified on beauty, goodness, and truth. Once a child asked me, you know that kids ask difficult questions. He asked me, “Father what did God do before creating the world?” I assure you that I found it real difficult to answer the question. I said what I will now say to you now, “Before creating the world God loved because God is love. So much love Father, Son and Holy Spirit; it was so overflowing, I don’t think this is very logical but you will understand, it was so big, this love, that God could not be egoistic. It had to be poured out of him so as to share that love with those out of himself. And then god created the world. God made this marvelous world in which we live and because sometimes we are a bit confused we are destroying it. The most beautiful thing that God did, says the bible, was the family. He cre- ated man and He created women and he gave them everything. He gave them the world that they may grow multiply cultivate the land multiply and grow. All that love he made in creation he gave it and shared it and bestowed it upon the family. Let us go back further, all of the love that God has in himself, all the beauty he has in himself and truth he gives to the fam- ily. The family is really a family when it is able to open its arm and receive all that love. Of course it’s not quite earthly paradise, there are still problems. Men and women through the astuteness of the devil have learned unfortunately how to divide themselves. All that love that God gave almost was lost. In a little period of time the first crime, the first instance of fratricide; a brother kills an- other brother and war. Love, beauty, and truth of God and destruction and war; And between them we walk ahead. It is up to us to choose, it is up to us to decide which path we want to take forward. Let’s go back, when man and his wife made mistakes. God did not abandon them. So great was his love that he began to walk with humanity, with his people until the bright moment. And he made highest expression of love, His own son. And where did he send his son to a palace, to a city, to a company? No!!! He sent him to a family. God sent him amid a family, in a family. And he could do this because it was a family that had a truly open heart. Doors of their hearts open, Mary she could not believe it, “How can this happen?” But when the angel explained it to her she agreed. Saint Joseph, he finds himself in this surprising situation that he does not understand and he accepts, he obeys and in obedience he loves this women she loves this man Joseph, Mary and Joseph, that is a family in which Jesus is born. God plans so that our hearts be open. He likes to bring his love to open hearts. It comes out from him. You know what he likes most? To knock on the doors of families and to find families who love each other, families who bring up their children to grow and help them move forward. Who create, who develop a society of truth, goodness, and beauty. We are celebrating the feast of the family. Families have a citizenship which is divine. The identity card which they have is given to them by God. So that within the heart of the family truth, goodness, and beauty can truly grow. Some of you may say, of course, “Father you speak like that because you are not married.” Families have the difficulties. In the family we quarrel and sometimes plates can fly. And children bring headaches, and I won’t speak about mother in laws. But in families there is always light, because the love of God, the Son of God opens also that part of us. But just as there are problems in families there is the light of the resurrection afterwards; be- cause the Son of God created that path. But I have to say the family is like a factory of hope. God opened this path, this possibility and children, yes they bring their challenges and we also are the cause of work and worry. Sometimes at home I see some of my helpers they come to work and they look tired and have a one month old child. And I ask them, “did you sleep?” And they say, “ I couldn’t sleep Holiness because they were crying all night.” In the family there are indeed difficulties but those difficulties are over come with love. Hatred is not capable of dealing with any difficulties and overcoming any difficulties. Division of hearts cannot overcome any difficulties. Only love. Only love is able to overcome. Love is about celebration. Love is a job. Love is moving for- ward. May God bless you. May God give you hope. May God give you the strength to move forward. Let’s look after the family. Let’s protect the family because it is in the family that our future is at play. Thank you. God bless you all and please pray for me.

Psalm — May the Lord bless us all the days of our lives (Psalm 128). Second Reading — He who consecrates and those who are being consecrated all have one origin (Hebrews 2:9-11). Gospel — Whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it (Mark 10:2-16 [2-12]).

“Respect Life Month is a fitting time to reflect on the truth of who we are. Our worth is based not on our skills or levels of productivity. Rather, we discover our worth when we discover our true identity found in the un-changeable, permanent fact that we are created in God’s image and likeness and called to an eternal destiny with him. Because of this, absolutely nothing can diminish our God-given dignity, and therefore, nothing can diminish the immeasurable worth of our lives. Others may fail to respect that dignity—may even try to undermine it—but in doing so, they only distance themselves from God’s loving embrace. Human dignity is forever. Whether it lasts for a brief moment or for a hundred years, each of our lives is a good and perfect gift. At every stage and in every circumstance, we are held in existence by God’s love.“

As we move into October, we are continuing our theme of mercy by studying the saints who have exhibited mercy in their lives. We will be looking at many saints, including Blessed Mother Teresa, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Saint Padre Pio, and Blessed Pier Frassati. We will also be col-lecting new and gently used items of winter clothing, such as coats, jackets, hats, scarves, gloves, boots, hoodies, sweaters, and warm socks. If you are able to donate any-thing, please bring it to the school office by Oct. 15th. The items will be distributed to various organiza-tions, like Christ in the City, who take care of the disad-vantaged. Thank you for your help and support of this ministry of mercy!

Eileen Michalczyk, Principal

UPCOMING MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER

In the second reading today, St. Paul talks about the special kind of love between a husband and a wife. Through the Sacrament of Matrimony, we are called to live in love as Christ loved us. Does our marriage relationship reflect the love of Christ for all to see? The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend is:

At the Holiday Inn in Frisco, CO Oct. 23-25

For more information, please visit http://northerncoloradome.org Questions? Feel free to contact Brenda & Gary Granger: 303.604.6202, [email protected].

We are looking for a Eucharistic Minister that could help take communion to Anschutz Hospital on Sunday October the 4th and November the 1st. If you can help with either date or both please contact Connor in the parish office. If you have never done it before Connor can set up a time to walk you through it either at the hospital or in his office.

MUSIC MINISTRY

We believe that every volunteer comes forward in service because they recognize that the time and the talents they possess are really given to them for the sake of building up the Body of Christ and making the reign of God more visible in our lives. Being a part of the music ministry of the church is one of the most unique ways to be a part of your church while praising the Lord. It is through music that we make every worship experience both unique and different in a special way. Our hope is that you give prayerful consideration to lending your voice or instrumental gifts to our music ministry at St. Pius X .
