MOBILE POTABLE WATER TREATMENT PLANT YANFOLILA MINE, MALI In less than 3 weeks PROXA produced 2 plants for use on a remote gold mine – ensuring a consistent potable water supply for its accommodation camp, processing facility and workshops. THE CHALLENGE A client in the gold mining sector was constructing a new gold processing facility and accommodation camp in Mali. They urgently needed a supply of potable water treatment plants so that construction could begin. The client also required a solution that minimised and simplified site works. OUR SOLUTION PROXA produced a containerised water treatment plant that consists of sand filtration, activated carbon and a selective arsenic removal system. Two plants, producing 5m 3 /h each, were manufactured to supply potable water to the accommodation camp, processing facility and workshops. The project was executed through PROXA’s expedited project management system. HOW PROXA ADDED VALUE PROXA’s experience of mobile water treatment plants, coupled with our knowledge of the constraints typically associated with remote installation, meant that we were able to manufacture these bespoke plants in a very short time. PROXA’s relationships with manufacturers and our access to equipment ensured that lead times were minimised. TREATMENT PROCESS The treatment process aims to consistently produce water of potable quality from a number of boreholes and river abstraction points. The treatment method entails a 3-stage process to achieve high recovery rates and ensure the production of safe drinking water. The treatment consists of filtration through multi-media filters, organic removal, followed by selective arsenic and manganese removal. The final product is chlorinated to World Health Organisation (WHO) standards to provide a safe product to the consumers. PRODUCT WATER Potable water Client: Senet proxawater.com
