2. For this task you will need to select a passage (approximately half a page long) from your current book, that you think is highly descriptive or atmospheric.

- Take a screen shot or photograph of it so that you can annotate it. Highlight and label with meaning the words that you think build atmosphere and mood in the passage.

- Now try to rewrite the passage using antonyms (opposite/ different meaning words) to help you change the atmosphere/ mood into a different one.

Year 10 Art Home LearningCreate a new tonal observational drawing of an object/still life/ scene/ animal relating to your theme. Please remember this is part of your coursework so it is important to do this to the highest of your ability. Examples of tonal drawings are below.

Observational drawings must include the following:

• Realistic and life like qualities working directly from an object or photograph.• Outline and shape must be accurate. (Use the grid technique or trace to help your accuracy)• 3 levels of tone (shadows, mid tones and highlights)• Tonal blending gradually between your tones.• Texture and details recorded using mark-making.
