Most children and teenagers concentrate best after nine hours sleep so make sure you get enough sleep.
Reduced sugar intake and increased protein levels with lean meat, almonds and eggs stimulate your dopamine levels which make concentration easier.
What is dopamine? A chemical released by nerve cells to send signals to other nerve cells.
Frequent breaks for exercise have a similar effect.

Besides being a fun and entertaining activity, it stimulates your hearing memory and is useful for improving speed and accuracy when speaking.
Have a go at some of the tongue twisters. Start slow and gradually speed up. How many times can you repeat them before it all starts to go wrong.

• Reading is a much more complex task for the human brain than, say, watching TV is.
• Reading strengthens brain connections and actually builds new connections.
• You have to sit still and quietly so you can focus on the story when you’re reading. If you read regularly, you develop the ability to do this for longer.
• Reading improves a your vocabulary and leads to more highly-developed language skills.
• Children who read do better at school. And they don’t just do better at subjects like reading, English and history. They do better at all subjects and they do better all the way through school.
