Welcome to the Term 1 Performance of

VCASS Dance.

I am thrilled we are able to perform on

site and on our streaming platform and

congratulate our hard-working students who

give such brightness to the future of dance.

I love how this evening promotes the value of technical training and

skills within the context of performance. Excerpts of Ballet class

are followed by selected repertoire, giving us a brief insight into the

practices which make dancing effortless and expressive.

A dancer does not wait for a role or a performance to work on the

quality of their movements or their artistic abilities. That joy happens

at every opportunity, every class, every day.

Congratulations to our great team of dance staff but tonight in

particular, we thank our ballet teachers, Janne Blanch, Tim Harbour,

Fiona Munroe, Madeleine Eastoe and Kynan Jones. We have been

choreographing and refining the work over most of this term and yet

as always, the show has seemed to come around so fast!

Tonight would not be possible without Olga Polyetayeva our expert

accompanist who has provided - as always - such marvellous music and

support across our classes and performances. Thank you
