Conference Schedule Overview

With an overarching focus on giving you the knowledge, tools, and resources to implement best practices in your community at the local level, the 2017 NCHV Annual Conference will be a gathering of the stakeholders behind the nearly 50 percent decrease in the number of homeless veterans on a given night in the U.S.

With a new Administration underway, it is even more vital that we gather as a movement - focused on keeping momentum and progress moving forward to serve each and every veteran who is experiencing or may experi-ence homelessness. Changes of government leadership do not change what works, or what we as a coalition do to ensure our communities have a comprehensive system of services able to serve any veteran in crisis with targeted, individualized resources. Local efforts become more important, as we prove the value of these efforts to not only the veterans we serve, but the communities we live in.

Make it your priority to attend this event to share your challenges, strategies, successes and to learn from experts across multiple areas related to the work you do with veterans in your community!

Whether you are new to the field or have been involved from the beginning, the 2017 NCHV Annual Confer-ence has sessions and opportunities geared to your needs. From Veteran Homelessness 101 to expanded best practice networking and information sharing sessions to in-depth public policy information and action, this year’s Conference will address key issues and areas for all attendees.

The Public Policy Session at this year’s Annual Conference will be a chance to get attendees up to speed on what is happening on Capitol Hill, and to prepare them for meetings with Congress. Are you interested in helping your community and communities across the country by advocating for homeless veteran programs with your members of Congress? Even if you have never spoken to your congressional offices before, NCHV will be able to prepare you for your first meeting. Are you already planning on taking these meet-ings? Let us know!

For more information, or to express your interest in taking a “Hill Meeting” or two, email Joshua Stewart our Director of Policy, at [email protected].
