year 2016-2017. It is an honour and a privilege to be the Vice-Chancellor of the YMCA

University of Science and Technology, Faridabad that stands for excellence and continuously

sets the highest standards.

I am delighted to welcome the next batch of UG/PG/Ph.D. students for the academic

year 2016-17. YMCA University of Science & Technology erstwhile ‘YMCA Institute of

Engineering, Faridabad’ is a pioneer Institution that has been providing qualified and trained

manpower to the industry since its inception as an Indo-German project in 1969. It is one of

the leading Universities of the State, and it has contributed immensely in the field of Science &

Technology.

The YMCAUST has been conferred “Best Upcoming University” award by Associated

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India in February 2014 under National Education

Excellence Awards 2014. YMCAUST has been awarded ‘AAA+’ rating by the Careers360

magazine in the year 2013, 2014 and 2015 and in the year 2016, it has also been awarded

‘AAAA’ rating by Careers360 magazine.

The University has produced a large number of entrepreneurs who are actively

contributing to the socio – economical development of the country in general and the State of

Haryana in particular. In fact, the University is concentrating on flourishing the

multi-dimensional talents of the students through different academic and extra-curricular

activities. The faculty members and non-teaching staff are highly dedicated with total

commitment towards the achievement of our mission and goals of the University.

The University is planning to introduce new post-graduate courses in different disciplines

from this session. In addition to this, we are also starting new certificate courses in foreign

languages viz., French and German to provide better employment opportunities in the era of

globalization.

M.C.A. Lateral Entry to II Year Courses 2016-17

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. The Application Form for admission is given at the end of brochure.

2. The duly completed Application Form alongwith all required enclosures should reach

YMCA University of Science and Technology, Sector-6, Faridabad-121006, Haryana

by the closing date of submission of form 25/07/2016 (Monday). No application will

be entertained thereafter.

3. Candidates must enclose the proof of their eligibility qualification (mentioning exact

percentage in degree) with the application form. Otherwise his / her application

will not be considered for admission under any circumstances and the applicant fee

will not be refunded.

4. A candidate who furnishes particulars which are found to be false or suppresses

material information, will not be considered for admission and if he/ she is admitted

on such information, legal action under the law of the land, his/ her admission shall

be cancelled as per University rules and all fees deposited by him/ her will stand

forfeited.

5. Before accepting the admission, the candidate must also ensure that he/ she fulfills

the minimum eligibility conditions. Result awaited candidates need not to apply.

Fee once paid will not be refunded.

6. No separate call letters will be issued.

7. All the admitted candidates will be governed by the Academic Regulation and

Ordinance as laid down by the University.

8. In the case of any inconsistency in the rules or any clarification thereof, the matter

shall be referred to the competent authority for interpretation whose decision shall

be final.

NOTE:

Application form can be downloaded from University Website i.e. www.ymcaust.ac.in

and the filled in application forms has to be submitted along with required documents and a

Demand Draft of Rs.1000/-(Rs.500/- for SC / ST Category) in the Establishment Section of the

University by 25.07.2016 (Monday) up to 4.00 pm. The DD should be made in favor of

‘Registrar, YMCAUST, Faridabad payable at Faridabad.

2. M.C.A. Lateral Entry to II Year courses 2.1 Number of seats for M.C.A. Lateral Entry to II Year courses (1) Total no. of seats is 07 in MCA with the following break-up:

2.2 Duration for M.C.A. course for students admitted through lateral entry to II Year courses :

The normal duration of the M.C.A. course for lateral entry for regular full time candidates shall

be 02 years. Teaching in each academic year is divided into two semesters.

2.3 Eligibility conditions for MCA Lateral Entry to II Year courses

2.3.1 The minimum eligibility condition for admission to the course shall be as follows:

Recognized Bachelor Degree in BCA /B.Sc. (IT /Computer) of minimum three years

duration from a recognized university with Math at 10+2 level or at Graduation level. The

candidate must have clearly passed with an aggregate of 50% marks (47.5% for SC/ST

candidates) at graduation level. Result awaited candidates need not to apply.

2.3.2 The admission would be made on the basis of merit of qualifying examination.

The University is residential both for boys and girls, as separate hostels for boys & girls exist.

However, the hostel facility is limited; therefore, preference will be given to those students who

are living beyond 50 kms. (radial distance) from the University.

Hostel Charges for Hostellers only

1. Hostel charges of Rs. 6,800/- payable in the form of DD in favour of “Registrar,

YMCAUST, Faridabad” payable at Faridabad.

2.5. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION

The Application Form can be downloaded from the University Website (www.ymcaust.ac.in).

The application forms should be accompanied with a Demand draft for the amount as

Applicable of Rs.1000/-(500/-for SC/ST) drawn in favour of the “Registrar, YMCAUST,

FARIDABAD” payable at FARIDABAD. Candidates seeking admission should submit complete

application in all respects on the prescribed form in their own handwriting and must also

enclose attested copies of the following documents:

i. Graduation Certificates showing the detailed marks in the qualifying examination on the basis of which admission is being sought.

ii. Matriculation/ Hr. Secondary Examination Certificate as a proof of age.

iii. Valid Certificate of SC/ST/Reservation category for Haryana state residents from the Competent Authority, in case admission is sought against SC/ ST /Reservation category.

iv. BC category

v. 10+2 certificate

Criteria for merit list The merit list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the University website and notice boards of the University on 28/07/2016 :

Criteria for merit will be percentage of marks qualifying examination (upto 2 decimal places).

In case, marks of candidates at graduation level is same, then the candidate senior in age (as per D.O.B.) will have higher merit.

In case two students get same marks and having same DOB, then the candidate having more percentage in 10+2 will have higher merit.

In case the candidate has CGPA in any qualifying exam and percentage of marks is not mentioned, percentage of marks will be calculated by multiplying CGPA (out of 10) with 9 (i.e. percentage of marks = 9 x CGPA)

ADMISSION & COUNSELING

2.6 Admission in MCA (Lateral Entry IInd Yr.), will be on the basis of merit of qualifying examination.

2.6.1 Documents required at the time of counseling are as follows:

Two attested photocopies and original certificates for verification purpose of the following.

Class 10th Certificate indicating date of birth

12th mark sheet.

Qualifying degree certificate

Detailed Marks Card of the Qualifying Examination.

Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended / from the last employer.

SC / BC/PH Certificate /any other reservation certificate (if applicable) issued by competent authority in the format prescribed by the Government.

Medical Fitness Certificate from a Gazette Medical Officer.

2.6.2 Only those candidates who present themselves in person on the specified date of counseling along with the originals of all the documents will be considered for admission.

2.6.3 The selected candidates will have to submit a “Migration Certificate” within one month of his/her admission, from the University/Institute last attended.

2.6.4 The applicant will report to Admission Committee on the scheduled date of counseling 29/07/2016 (Friday) at 9.00 am. The Chairman of the Computer Engg. Department will be the Chairman of Admission Committee for admission.

2.6.5 The candidates admitted to MCA Programme will be required to deposit the fee, excluding hostel charges in the form of DD, drawn in favour of Registrar, YMCAUST Faridabad payable at Faridabad, on the spot at the time of admission, otherwise he / she will not be entitled for admission.

Before accepting the admission, the candidate must ensure that he/ she fulfills the minimum

eligibility conditions as laid down herein and to register with University for admission to

respective course. Fee once paid will not be refunded, after the date of last counseling. Only

security amount will be refunded after the final admission.
