Local Plan objectives

• Support locally-sustainable development• Support development that will maintain or develop new services for the

benefit of communities. • Encourage development that will support a growing, diverse and resilient

economy, which increases the proportion of young adults and people of working age living in the Park.

• Use the planning system to help deliver conservation and public enjoyment.

• Encourage development in locations with services • Support innovative and high-quality design• Ensure the landscape is responsive to change while at the same time

conserving and enhancing its character.

• Increased financial viability of allocated sites• Housing target• More flexibility for local occupancy• New allocated business sites

Business/employment

Outcome of Representations

• 49 responses from 7 individuals, 4 Parish Councils, 5 local authorities and 3 central govt. agencies. The rest were from local and national organisations and planning consultants

• 164 representations in total. 35 propose minor changes and 62 are observations. 67 are substantive objections about: – Housing target, viability, local occupancy– Locational strategy– Open space protection policy– Barns/conservation levy– Quarrying policy– Caravan policy
