. ANNOUNCEMENTS You are invited to attend the Porkie Pancake Brunch after worship. The brunch is hosted by the Youth and the Fellowship Committee. It is a fundraiser for the Mission Trip to Montana, June 12-19. Three adults and six youth are going to Chinook, Montana where Lacy Schimmel is working as a YAV. They will be painting a VFW that is used as a food pantry and helping paint and decorate a fair booth, and helping with their Vacation Bible School. Christian sympathy is extended to the family of Sally De Muth who passed away on March 18. Her funeral will be held at a later date. May God comfort them in their sorrow. You are invited to reflect on Gods salvation during Holy Week. It starts with a simple soup and bread supper at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, followed by a Tenebrae Service with Communion. On Friday, we gather at 12:30 p.m. for the Drama in the Gardenwith eight symbols for kids and adults. The week concludes with our celebration of the resurrection next Sunday. The Worship Committee, with the support of Session, is moving forward with a fundraising effort to purchase a digital piano for the choir room. With a digital piano, the ongoing issues of tuning and stability would no longer be a concern. The goal is to raise $4,500 for a Clavinova, an instrument that comes with a significant discount from Heid Music. If you are interested in supporting this effort, please designate your check or donate online by selecting choir room piano. The Deacons of First Presbyterian Church will be sponsoring a meal at St. Johns Homeless Shelter on April 7 at 5:00 p.m. We will be cutting vegetables and preparing the beef stew that morning at 8:00 in Banner Hall. We will be serving beef stew, salad, rolls, jello, juice and milk. Look for the sign up sheet in the hallway. Thank you for your help! With a constant barrage of selfies, Tweets, and Snaps, it s easy to get caught up in todays self-absorbed culture. This changes for a group of kids when they learn of a brand-new app called Unselfie. The app lets you take pictures of yourself but only allows you to post if the motive behind it is unselfish. Join Bill, Molly, Ron, Ginny, and Charley on an adventure where they learn the importance of being unselfish in todays selfie world by sharing the transforming love of Christ. The musical will be performed during the worship service on Sunday, April 22. Plan to be there! A group of Green Bay area Presbyterians will travel to St. Louis on June 24-29. We will be staying at the mission house of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church and doing service work coordinated by AMEN Saint Louis. The cost per person is $200 for lodging and programming. We will provide transportation and our own meals. We will also have a free day in the city. The trip is intergenerational, from grade six to senior citizens. Watch for a meeting coming soon. LIGHTING OF THE CHRIST CANDLE Katie Gauthier *CALL TO WORSHIP……………………………………………Katie Gauthier Blessed is the coming kingdom. Hosanna in the highest! When Jesus and his disciples were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden; untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ just say this, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here immediately.’” Blessed is the coming kingdom. Hosanna in the highest! Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it; and he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields. Then those who went ahead and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our ancestor David! Hosanna in the highest!” *PRAYER OF THE DAY…………………………………………Katie Gauthier God of salvation, our Lord entered his passion to raise us to life. In this holiest of weeks, help us to walk the way of the cross, that we may be raised in a resurrection like his and dwell forever in you, Eternal God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen. *HYMN #196 …………………………………..."All Glory, Laud, and Honor"

CALL TO CONFESSION………………………………………….Katie Gauthier PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) ………….……………….Katie Gauthier We confess that we have sinned, and although we would like to deny it, we have forsaken you. We are horrified by the suffering we cause—to you, ourselves, and the world you have created. Open the gates of your forgiveness and restore us in your love, for the sake of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION Katie Gauthier WORDS OF ASSURANCE

*RESPONSE IN SONG #177 (refr ain only) Do not be afraid, I am with you. I have called you each by name. Come and follow me, I will bring you home; I love you and you are mine. *THE PEACE Jesus said: “As the Lord has forgiven us, let us also forgive one another.” The peace of the Lord Jesus be with you. And also with you. We exchange signs of peace. (Children leave for Sunday School)

Refrain Verses 9-13 Refrain Verses 14-16 Refrain OLD TESTAMENT………………………………………….Isaiah 50:4-9a (pg. 681) EPISTLE…………...…………………………………Philippians 2:5-11(responsive) Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. READERS DRAMA The Passion of Our Lord according to Mark (Please leave the booklet in your pew for future use.)
