AIESEC Prilep is delighted toinvite YOU to participate in YOURCHOICE project taking place inthe beginning of 2014. The aim ofthe project is to transfer theknowledge of German, Italian orSpanish language to high schooland college students, from a nativespeaker of the language,something that’s not possible forthe students when they take thecourse from a teacher whoselanguage (German, Italian orSpanish) is not native. Therefore,you’ll have the unique opportunityto both teach your native language
to the kids, and to share your ownexperience of living and workingin (Germany, Italy , Spain). Sincethe desire to work abroad is on therise between Macedonian youths,and Western Europe countries arethe most popular workdestinations, this language projectwill serve as a stepping stone fortheir ambition to work and studyin a country where those languagesare spoken. Also, the studentsyou’ll teach will have the chance tohave more knowledge for yourculture and to have better chancesfor hiring in the future.

What we’re looking for…
• An intern coming from Germany, Italy, Spain or LatinAmerica who also has very good English.
• An intern that has presentation skills, which are required tomake the classes more interesting to the students.
• An intern with good computer and internet skills.
• An intern with excellent leadership andmanagement skills, which will help him guide the studentgroup through the course.
• An intern that is willing to adapt to the culture, tradition andcustoms of Macedonia, and also to the climate system of thecountry.

Preparation and delivery ofsoft skills trainings for 2different groups (high schooland university students).
Lecturing your language onbasic and intermediate level tohigh school and collegestudents, on classes held onEnglish, and planning andorganizing various activitiesaround the language, likelistening to popular songs in(German, Italian, Spanish),watching (German, Italian,Spanish) language movies etc.Also, bringing your country’stradition, history, customs andculture closer to theMacedonian students.
Promoting and raisingawareness among the studentsabout the opportunities theycan take in the future andpreparing them for thoseopportunities by helping themto develop their skills andreach their potential.Preparing the work programfor the course, planning eachclass individually, andpreparing one entry exam,short monthly exams and onefinal exam, so that both theintern and the students cantrack the progress made inlearning the language.
Planning and doing extra-curricular interactiveactivities, that will be held asan addition to the official workplan, and also hold and teachat various workshops on time-management, presentationskills, leadership, etc.

EXPLORE MACEDONIAMacedonia is an ancient biblicalcountry, geographically situatedin the central part of the BalkanPeninsula.The main features Macedonia asa touristic area are the transittourism, the especially favorableconditions for mountain wintersports, the old age villages withtheir own specifics, and themagnificent lakes which provideexceptional conditions forsummer stationary tourism.
Even though Macedonia is ayoung state which becameindependent in 1991, its rootsrun deep in the history. Thename "Macedonia" is in fact theoldest surviving name of acountry in the continent of
Europe. Archaeological evidenceshows that old Europeancivilization flourished inMacedonia between 7000 and3500 BC. Macedoniais located in the center of theSouthern Balkans, north ofancient Greece, east of Illyria,and west of Thrace. The ancientMacedonians were a distinctnation, ethnically, linguistically,and culturally different fromtheir neighbors. The origins ofthe Macedonians are in theancient Brygian substratumwhich occupied the whole ofMacedonian territory and inIndo-European superstratum,which settled here at the end ofthe 2ndmillennium.

Macedonian nation is traditional but in other hand is getting close to modern culture.
Working timeWorking days are fom Monday to Friday, and working time strarts from 08 - 16h.
Respecting traditional holidaysThere are still habits of respecting the tradition, holidays as Eastern, Christmas, Vasilica, when people have the opportunity to spend more time with their family.
Social lifeThe Republic of Macedonia has very rich social life. In every town you will find café-bars for day and night entertainment where you can spend many enjoyable moments with your friends. Starting from cafes, bars and restaurants to the most attractive clubs and discotheques during the whole week.

ENJOY PRILEPPrilep is a city in Macedonia,located in the north part of thePelagonian valley and is in thesouth part from the country. Themain road M-5 is the road fromwhich people get into Prilep.Prilep is also known as “The cityunder the Marco’s towers”because of its proximity to thetowers of the legendary PrinceMarco.
Prilep is also honored with orderof the people’s hero inYugoslavia in 7th of May, 1975and is the one of the eight citiesin the country honored with thatorder. Also there is theMunicipality of Prilep.
Prilep covers 1,675 km2 (647 sqmi) and is located in thenorthern Pelagonia plain, insouthern Macedonia. Prilep isthe seat of a municipality withthe same name (Prilepmunicipality) and is accessed bythe M5/E65. It is only 128 km(80 mi) (airline) from the capitalSkopje, 44 km (27 mi) fromBitola, and 32 km (20 mi) fromKruševo. It has a population ofapproximately 66,246 citizens.

Nationalities in Prilep
The overwhelming majority ofthe city population isMacedonian; the Macedonianpopulation at the last censuscounted 64,527. There is also aRoma minority, counting some4,421 inhabitants, also Serbs(315) and Turks (254). Therewere risen ethnic tensionsbetween Macedonian majorityand the small Albaniancommunity in the region,especially after an incidentduring the 2001 Macedoniaconflict where ten young soldiersfrom Prilep were killed byAlbanian insurgents.
Art and architecture
The main square in Prilep iscalled "Alexandria", in honor ofAlexander the Great. Thereconstruction of the squarebegan in 2005 and it wascompleted in 2006. Thereconstruction cost 700.000Euros and its investor was thecity of Prilep. During thereconstruction the monument ofAlexander the Great was erected,among the other things.

Language
The dialect of Prilep, in the heart of the Pelagonian plain, forms thebasis for the standard Macedonian language spoken today. When theSocialist Republic of Macedonia was created in Yugoslavia in 1943and the language nationally recognised the following year, Prilep,together with Veles, was chosen as the centre for the languagebecause of their central position on the Macedonian map.

-Every year in October theInternational Children's MusicFestival "Asterisks" bringstogether children from all overthe world.-Every year the ProfessionalTheater Festival of Macedonia,honoring Vojdan Chernodrinski,who was born in village Selcinear Struga and Debar.-The Monastery of Zrze and theMonastery of the Holy ArchangelMichael which has 12th and 14th
century frescoes are notable sitesof the culture of Prilep.-"Beerfest" is a yearly 4 day partyheld in the middle of July thatattracts around 200,000 visitorsto the city. There areinternational popular music actsperforming nightly on the mainstage in the square as well as atthe various clubs around town."Beerfest" features a growingnumber of foreign and domesticbeers as well as an opportunityfor Prilep to showcase it'sfamous barbecue.

-Prochka is a centuries oldreligious holiday of forgivenessand celebration that in 2001found an organizedmanifestation as "PrilepCarnival" and has been amember of the Federation ofEuropean Carnival Cities since2006. Despite the new officialname, the festival is still knownas Prochka by the locals and iscalled Prochka in the official
tourist guide. The highlight ofthe festival is the mask paradewhich runs through the center ofthe town and hosts participantsfrom multiple Europeancountries. There is a prize givenfor the best costume and many ofthe costumes are very elaborate.There are also concerts, parties,and lots of traditional foodduring the festival which is heldin February.
