72017 SEASON

2017 SUMMER SEASON IN THE MAJESTIC CAPITOL THEATRE

There is one important change in our 2017 season that we would like to draw to your attention. Between May and December next year the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the Sydney Opera House will be closed to enable important work to upgrade theatre machinery. This essential work will ensure that the theatre is equipped to meet the needs of the future. As a result of this closure, The Australian Ballet’s Summer Season in November and December 2017 will take place in the majestic Capitol Theatre.

As a result of the schedule limitations, we were unable to include The Sleeping Beauty performances as part of your Principal Package. We are delighted to invite you to purchase tickets to this encore season at Capitol Theatre.

With a rich history that dates back 100 years, the Capitol is Sydney’s oldest and grandest theatre and is a wonderful venue for ballet. Our dancers love performing at Capitol Theatre, which has also hosted Mikhail Baryshnikov, Eifman Ballet and Paris Opéra Ballet.

We’re looking forward to presenting you with a very special 2017 Summer Season at the Capitol.

SUMMER SEASON: CAPITOL THEATRE
