Continuing to support
Tuturumuri School
Week 5, Term 2, 2017 From the Principal’s Chair Kia ora tena koutou katoa On behalf of the children, myself and Jo we would like to extend a very huge thank you to
all the community for your support with The Great Tora Cook off held at the Communi-
ty hall on Saturday night.
The Hall looked fantastic, the evening ran well and everyone seemed to have a great night
and went home bursting at the seams!
A massive thank you also to those who entered all the amazing dishes, the fundraising
committee and school support staff, for organising and running such a successful event.
We raised just over $3,850 dollars. Wow! Once we have decided what this will go towards
we will let you know.
You may or may not have noticed but usually our newsletter comes out every fortnight. We
are changing the structure of this, we will now only be producing 3 newsletters a term. If
there are any community notices in the mean time these can be forwarded via e mailed
through the office. A lot of people are now utilising the Community Facebook page ,
where people are regularly selling items, posting road updates and seeking general infor-
mation. If you are not a member and would like to sign up look us up on Face-
Book@Tuturumuri/Tora Community.
John Bissell from Backblocks Enviromental Management stopped into School last week
to inform us about the 1080 drop in the area next month, he has spoken to those of you
who are immediately effected, everyone else should have received a folder in the mail
with information on this. If for some reason you haven’t received one and would like
more information about this please pop into school and grab
a booklet, or contact [email protected]. John has sent an
email today to say the non toxic prefeed will go down this
week. The chopper will probably do the Stoney Creek area
Weds/Thursday.
