PA Series Pneumatic Actuators

PROPERTIES OF THE COATING PROCESSThe aluminium actuator bodies and end caps undergo a4-step pre-treatment to guarantee a perfect finish andsuperior corrosion resistance.

The next step is painting by cationic electro deposition(cataphoresis). A 20 micron layer of hydro soluble primingpaint is applied to create the smoothest possible base coatfor the Rilsan coating.

The final step is the application of a 10 micron thick coat ofRilsan polyamide 11. Rilsan is a fully polymerizedthermoplastic which provides outstanding corrosionresistance to effluents, sea water, sea mist, hydrocarbons,solvents and a large number of chemicals. It has excellentmechanical and physical properties, exceptionally smoothfinish, extremely low friction coefficient which ensure alonger cycling life than competitors’ products.

P Series AccessoriesSOLVDA is a CSA/UL- Approved 5/2-way pilot-operated, bubble-tight solenoidvalve designed to mount directly to any NAMUR-compliant actuator. Itscomplement of features includes a reinforced polyamide body; nitrile seals ando-rings; nickel plated ports and mounting hardware; epoxy encapsulated coil;threaded actuator and pilot vent ports; manual override; easy AC/DCinterchangeability; low minimum main air line pressure operation due to high Cvfactor; breather block capability; multi-million cycle life and 3-pin DINconnection in conduit, grommet and LED grommet versions.120-110VAC/60-50Hz supplied standard; 220-240VAC/60-50Hz, 12VAC, 24VAC, 12VDC, 24VDCand explosion-proof units also available on request.

PLSYT4 is a CSA-approved 2-position limit switch box designed for standoffmounting to any VDI/VDE3845 (NAMUR) compliant rotary actuator. Itscomplement of features includes a quick-access cover; high visibility positionindicator/beacon; compact design; quick-setting switch cams; million-cyclesingle-pole double-throw switches; dual electrical inlets for solenoid and/orground connections; vapor-tightneess and submersibility. It is most effective inon-off applications on spring-return actuators but is available with any numberof options, including hazardous area enclosures, intrinsical safety, reed orinductive proximity switches and BUS communication modules.

F/R-A is an effective 1-piece air filter/regulator with pressure gauge. Itscomplement of features includes a brass body; Acetal valve components; Nitrilebushings/o-rings; polycarbonate filter bowl and polyethylene filter element;manual filter bowl drain valve. It is available with 2x 1/8" gauge ports so thegauge can be oriented correctly, regardless of airflow direction. The additionalport is capped off.

MO-Series is a manual declutchable gear override designed to fit between anyISO-compliant valve and rotary actuator. It offers simple and reliable manualpositioning of valves, dampers and other quarter-turn devices when overridingexisting pneumatic actuators. All MO units are suitable for indoor and outdooruse and combine rugged construction, light weight and modular design toprovide the most efficient and cost-effective solution to a full range of manualoverride requirements. The self-locking worm gear design means safe and easyoperation, positive manual positioning and extremely long life. The MO-seriesoverride can be adapted to any quarter-turn actuator and may even be installedin the field on existing valves.

POS-Series positioners are designed to mount directly to any VDI/VDE3845(NAMUR) compliant rotary actuator. Its complement of features includes die-castaluminum enclosure; inlets for electrical, air and gauge connections; visualposition indication; and a temperature rating of -20ºC to 70ºC. It is available in 3-15 psi pneumatic, 4-20 mA electro-pneumatic, digital or BUS communicationversions. It can be fitted with extra mechanical or proximity switches and apotentiometer for position feedback.

PA Series Accessories

RETAINED SPRING SETThe Retained Spring Set is used to keep the spring sets from overextending andcausing a sudden release of spring tension during actuator end cap removal,which could lead to actuator damage or personal injury. This system is availableas an option only on larger actuators, where the spring tension is greater and anadded safety factor can be favourable.

INTEGRAL TRAVEL STOPSTwo adjustable bolts are integrated into the actuator body and act as travel stopsfor both the open and close travel. These bolts act as stops for a cam mountedonto the output shaft and are adjustable for the last 5 degrees of travel.

END CAP TRAVEL STOPSTwo adjustable bolts are integrated into the actuator end caps and act as travelstops for the open travel only. These bolts act as stops for both pistons to applybalanced stopping pressure and are adjustable for the full length of travel.
