WELDING FILTERS EXPLAINEDWe offer a complete range of automatic and passive welding fi lters, all of them categorised in a convenient performance ladder following a clear performance hierarchy. This allows users to make an informed choice of the best eye protection needed during the welding related tasks.

JACKSON SAFETY* branded ADFs are logically classifi ed by performance level for easier selection, and are marked with the type of liquid crystal used to deliver the eye protection. They are available with internal and external shade controls to allow the welder convenient access to all functions.

ADF Product Names Explained

Single or Dual Twisted NematicTwisted Nematic liquid crystal display molecules in the light state are parallel to the display’s outer surfaces. When the high voltage pulse is applied the molecules rotate a full 90 degrees.

Surface Mode (exclusive to KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL*)

In the light state of a surface mode liquid crystal display, only the liquid crystal molecules at the outside surfaces are at rest with their long axis parallel to the display’s outer surfaces. The liquid crystal at the centre of the display is aligned perpendicular to the outside display surfaces. When the high voltage pulse is applied, only the molecules near the surface need to rotate the full 90 degrees as the fi lter switches. Therefore, the switching speed is much faster, reducing the exposure of the eyes to the harmful radiation that damages the cornea.

KCP warrants that its products: (i) comply with KCP’s standard specifi cations as of the date of delivery to KCP’s authorised distributors and direct purchasers; (ii) comply with all KCP labelling representations; and (iii) are manufactured in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws in effect at the time and place of manufacture of the products. This warranty must be read in conjunction with the terms set out for each respective product in this catalogue particularly the limitations or exclusions to this warranty set out in the notes below. The warranty term for ADFs, welding helmets and PAPR blower units starts from the day the device is manufactured as indicated in the traceability code that goes with each unit.

Physical condition of the defective devices: Any modifi cation to the original design, misuse of the product contrary to the intended application advertised by KCP, or any other explicit recommendation included in the correspondent instructions manual or abuse of the product will void the warranty. Specifi c defects on welding fi lters (ADFs), helmets and PAPR systems not covered by the warranty include:

• Any damage created by fall or impact against a solid object and contact with hot surfaces and fl ames; exposure to excessive heat or force when adjusting replaceable components

• Any power supply issues derived from corrosion from batteries exposed to excessive humidity or direct exposure to liquids

• Any defect caused by spatter on the liquid crystal or solar panel

• Deterioration from normal use on the decoration of the painted surfaces
