• Indiahastheworld’slargestyouthpopulationcomprisingofaroundone-

fifthofthetotalworldyouthpopulation.

enterprisesthatcreatenetnewjobsinanycountry.Start-upsarealsothecentersof

innovationandareagreatwaytoenhanceemploymentcreationintheeconomy.

WhatisaStart-up?

• Astart-upisayoungcompanythatisjustbeginningtodevelop.Start-upsareusually

smallandinitiallyfinancedandoperatedbyahandfuloffoundersoroneindividual.

Thesecompaniesofferaproductorservicethatisnotcurrentlybeingoffered

elsewhereinthemarket,orthatthefoundersbelieveisbeingofferedinaninferior

manner.

• PradhanMantriMicroUnitsDevelopmentandRefinanceAgencyLimited(MUDRA):ThisschemestartedwithaninitialcorpusofRs.20,000croretoextendbenefitsto

around10lakhsSMEs.Onecansubmitabusinessplanandonceapproved,theloan

getssanctioned.OnegetsaMUDRACard,whichislikeacreditcardthatcanbeused

topurchaserawmaterials,otherexpenses,etc.

• Bootstrappingorselffunding:Self-funding,alsoknownasbootstrapping,isaneffectivewayofstart-upfinancing,especiallywhenyouarejuststartingyour

business.

• CrowdFunding:Crowdfundingisliketakingaloan,pre-order,contributionorinvestmentsfrommorethanonepersonatthesametime.Inthis,astart-upwillput

upadetaileddescriptionofhis/herbusinessonacrowdfundingplatform.He/she

willmentionthegoalsofhis/herbusiness,plansformakingaprofit,howmuch

fundingheneedsandforwhatreasons,etc.andthenconsumerscanreadaboutthe

AlltheindirecttaxesareproposedtobesubsumedinasingletaxcalledtheGoodsand
