PSAT taken in the junior year qualifies students for the National Merit Scholars program. The top 1% of test takers throughout the country will become semi-finalists and have the opportunity to apply/compete for the scholarship.

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARS

The selection index on your score report is used for scholarship determination. The qualifying number changes from year to year, up or down 1-3 points. The selection index for 2010 was 209.

Qualifying students are notified in August of their senior year.
