Introducing the new Zamba by Matias Mayol Nexus Brands, LLC is pleased to introduce our new partnership with renowned Mendoza winemaker Matias Mayol. Matias is rightly considered one of the great winegrowers and winemakers of his generation for the remarkable wines he crafts from his high altitude vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo and Tupungato and Uco, extreme vineyards situated at the foot of the Andes. Ever since I was a child, wine was part of our meals. My grandfather, Pedro Juan Mayol, Spanish immigrant, dedicated his whole life to the production of grapes. This was the family’s main income. My father, Pedro Mayol, worked at his side from his young years. They both taught me the value that a vineyard has, the wisdom of labour and the love for the Earth.

The Mayol family tradition lead Matias and his father to search out the best terroir to grow quality grapes. In 1989 Matias and his father acquired their first Finca -Sebastian- in Tupungato, Uco Valley, and in 1998 the purchased two additional Fincas in Lujan de Cuyo -Montuiri- and in Vista Flores -Pircas-, Uco Valley. The

Mayols in this way became important grape producers; “purveyors” to the most important wineries in Mendoza. Matias learned about the wine business working as a New York based wine importer from 1999 to 2004. During this time Matias also I worked in different wineries in Italy, California, Oregon and Mendoza. Finally in 2004 Matias and his wife Christina realized their dream of creating their own winery.
