Zillow Android App: Introduction
Have you ever driven by your dream home and wondered what would it take
to live there? Are you currently shopping for a home for sale or for rent and spend your weekends scoping out neighborhoods and open houses? Or do you just wonder what the neighbors paid for their home? That knowledge is now yours -- on the go, for free --with the Zillow Android App.
Zillow.com shot to popularity in early 2006 by creating a database of all homes in the country – not just those for sale – quickly becoming an essential tool to navigate and understand the real estate market. In April 2009, Zillow launched Zillow Mobile starting with the Zillow iPhone App, which quickly became the number one real estate app in the iTunes store. Today, the Zillow iPhone app has been downloaded nearly one million timesand users view more than 2 million individual homes on the app each and every month.
Zillow created the Zillow Android App to satisfy the desire for real estate information exactly where and when people want and need it most – on location while scoping out homes and neighborhoods.
Zillow Android App: Features• Map Search and GPS: The app uses Android’s GPS capabilities to let users locate themselves on a map and see Zestimate values,
homes for sale or rent, and additional data on all surrounding homes. Move and the app moves with you, updating information as you go.
• Voice Search: The app utilizes Android’s voice search technology enabling users search for homes simply by saying an address, neighborhood or city.
• Find Homes for Sale or Rent: In addition to Zestimates and data on 95 million homes, users can find 4 million homes for sale, 60,000 homes for rent, 154,000 Make me Move listings and homes that have recently sold. Home shoppers can also set filters to simultaneously search both for sale and for rent homes based on a price range they can afford.
• Home Details: Multiple photos, home details, and contact information on homes for sale, for rent or listed as Make Me Move, allowing home shoppers to peek inside home listings and call or email agents, owners and landlords right from the app.
• Filter Searches: Shoppers can filter their home searches by sale price, rental price, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and listing type (for-sale, for-rent, Make Me Move and recently sold).
• View Homes Curbside: The app uses Google Street View, allowing users to view the home and its surroundings as if they were on the curb.
• Real-time data: All data is updated in real-time with new for sale and for rent listings data everyday.
• It’s FREE in the Android Market under the Lifestyle category.
Reviewer note: To mimic the true location-based user scenario, Zillow’s Android App is best used
within a residential neighborhood.
Getting Started on the Zillow Android App
Open the app, and allow it to use your current location. A blue GPS dot will appear, and it will follow you as you walk or drive around a neighborhood.

When first launching the program you will see an overview of the Zillow Android App.
Every home has a Zestimatevalue on the rooftop. Touch the value on a home to learn more. This will open a bubble with facts, and the ability to touch again to visit the full Home Details Page.
Home Details Page
Every home has a Home Details Page. This includes public record information about the home (number of beds/baths, sq feet), Zillow’s proprietary Zestimate and value range, a historical look at the value of the home; information about the last sale of the home; and recent sales of comparable nearby homes.
For-Sale Home Details Page
For-Sale homes include the full Home Detail Page information, plus the listing price, slideshows of photos provided by the seller, and contact information for the agent or owner selling the property. You can call or email the seller right from your phone.
Additional Listings on Zillow
In addition to homes for sale, the app displays homes for rent, recently sold homes, Make Me Move listings, and Zestimates on surrounding homes.

Setting Filters for Home Searches
Unique to Zillow, home shoppers can set search filters by home price or rent price, and simultaneously find both for sale and for rent homes within a price range they can afford. Additionally, users can filter a search query by listing type, and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
