ABOUT THE FOUNDER - DR JONATHAN GREENBURG: Dr. Greenburg, a licensed dentist for over 30 years, began treating patients exclusively for snoring and sleep apnea ten years ago. He invented ZYPPAH hybrid oral appliances after 8 years of research and development. He has a bioengineering degree from Syracuse and his doctorate from NYU. He theorized that oral appliances on the market had failed to correctly stabilize the tongue, and were sporadically effective. His invention specifically addresses the tongue, the primary cause for snoring and sleep apnea.

How the ZYPPAH® Hybrid Oral Appliance™ Works:

ZYPPAH® works to eliminate snoring with the unique technological advancement of being the only device that combines two solutions to stop snoring compared to a single solution like traditional oral appliances. ZYPPAH’s combining two solutions is a breakthrough in the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.

SOLUTION 1: ZYPPAH® uses a custom-fit, mandibular repositioning mouthpiece (advancing the jaw forward slightly) to partially open the airway. By moving the lower jaw forward from its normal position during sleep, you can improve the airflow and reduce the snoring sound. This process is used in almost every oral appliance sold. Until the invention of the ZYPPAH® hybrid appliances, the only means of treating snoring with an oral appliance was mandibular advancement. The challenge for these oral appliances comes from the limitation of how far you can advance the lower jaw before introducing negative side-effects of jaw pain.

SOLUTION 2: ZYPPAH® uses a patent-pending tongue stabilizing band. The band prevents the tongue from falling back into the throat, thus keeping the airway open. The tongue, which is a muscle, relaxes during sleep. The tongue relaxing and blocking the airway is the root cause of snoring. It’s why when you sleep on your back the snoring is usually louder. The forces of gravity cause the tongue to fall back into the throat blocking the airway. The band gently stabilizes the tongue to help you and those around you enjoy restful sleep.
