REPORT MOLEPO SPORT SEMINAR 2016 (Ga Mpsa Community Hall, Limpopo Province) 24 DEC 2016 Molepo Sport Seminar was a success under a great planning of the Mokumong Foundation. The theme and the focus were: Leaving no one behind, focusing on holistic sports development. Ga-Molepo is way left behind, we need to work very hard and catch up. The day was entertaining with both music and performance, we really enjoyed a lot. Thursday, 22 DECEMBER 2016 (Seminar date) The registration took place between 08:00AM and 09:00AM and the programme started after the registration and by then it was around past nine. George Molepo, marking manger of the Mokumong foundation was the keynote speaker of the seminar and he was addressing the issues of sport development in the Molepo village. He again touched the objectives of the seminar as they are looking forward to not leave anyone behind. The first presenter after the remarks of the programme director was Frans Mogashoa (SAFA Coaching Technician), he emphasized the importance of coaching and how coaches contribute towards athletes. Stella Mashamba (South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport) was the second presenter, on her presentation she was talking about their roles especially towards athletes. After the two presenters it was the time for the panelist to take over as the previous presenters prepared the flow. There were about five panelists and they made well presentations, it was football, Netball, Swimming, Athletics and Orienteering. There were a representative from Capricorn Sports Confederation and apology was received from the Limpopo Sport, Arts and Culture representative. Despite the panelist, the foundation also invited other organizations which they play a big role towards the sport development at Ga Molepo village. Those organizations include St Benedict and Hope Special School, Molepo Old Age Nursing Care, Nedbank Local Hero and Mokumong Foundation. The main thing about my presentation was to give background of orienteering and how can people of Ga Molepo village become involved in orienteering activities. I am happy that Anna was official delegated full responsibility of being in charge with orienteering in Ga Molepo village. The foundation will be checking Anna’s progress throughout the year of 2017 and so forth; they promised that I will be getting reports of her progress. pg. 1
