The 6th Grade Hall The 6th grade hall is located at the front of the
building and is separate from the 7th and 8th grade halls. 6th grade runs on a completely different schedule than the 7th and 8th grade; therefore, they are not in the halls or at other locations at the same time.
The 6th grade at GMS are teamed, meaning that students will move with the same group throughout the day with the exception of exploratory classes.
Locker Breaks, Restroom Breaks,
& Switching Classes Locker breaks will be worked into the daily
schedule. On the 6th grade hall, girls have top lockers and boys have bottom ones. Girls go, then boys so everyone will be able to access their lockers easily.
Locks will be provided by GMS---no outside locks please. Buy a lock & practice this summer.
Restroom breaks are also worked into the schedule. Teachers will take their students to the restroom during designated times.
6th Grade teachers walk students to classes and monitor class changes closely.
6th Grade Lunch Teachers will escort their classes to lunch. If it is
a regular lunch day, students may sit where they want, visit vending machines (when given permission by the teacher on duty), and go outside.
If it is rainy day lunch, students will sit with their classes at assigned tables. Students will not be allowed to use vending machines on these days.
