• Causes release of dopamine- mild euphoria, talkative, unrealistic, emotionally unstable, constipation, anorectic, manic behaviors, hallucinations

• Mephedrone- aka “meow meow” “MCAT”- effect similar to XTC, cocaine, methamphetamine

Black Tar Heroin-made in Mexico- Western US– Smells like vinegar
– About 27% “pure” compared with 46% South AmericanDerived from the Opium plant
– Most powerful of the opiatesCommon forms of ingestion
– Injected
– Snorted
– Smoked

• Often referred to as “Spice”
• Man made chemical analogs which are similar in structure to THC
• Many analogs are result of medical research
• John W. Huffman (Clemson Univ) created over 400..identified as JWH-018,JWH-022,ect.
• Pfizer gave us CP 47,497 & CP 55,490
• Many others..AM2201, HU 210,ect.

• MDMA – 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine
– AKA- “Ecstacy”
Properties of a CNS stimulant, rise in body temperature
Similar to adrenaline and mescaline (chemically)
Manufactured illegally, using many of the same chemicals and much of the same equipment as methamphetamine.

• Lysergic Acid Diethylamide– Most potent hallucinogen known
– Made from ergot fungus on rye

• $5-$10 a gram
• Contain psilocybin and psilocin
• Signs of use include:– Dilated pupils
– Aggressive behavior
– Illusions
– Impaired coordination
– Confusion

• Phencyclidine
• Many of the same effects of LSD
• Signs of use include those of LSD but include extreme violent behavior.
• Acts as a hallucinogen, stimulant, depressant and anesthetic all at the same time
• Can be in powder or liquid form
