A vector is any quantity that has magnitude (size) and direction.
A vector is used to describe translations.
Vectors can be written as an ordered pair
<2,-3>
These are the components of the vector. 2 is the x component and -3 is the y component.
To find the magnitude of the vector use pythagorean theorem. √(22 + (-32 ))
To find the x component take the cosine of the angle formed from the vector and the x-axis and multiply it by the magnitude.
To find the y component take the sine of the angle formed from the vector and the x-axis and multiply it by the magnitude.
