The Co. U16 Camogie B final Kiltegan v Knockananna takes place next Wednesday under lights in Ballinakill.

Congratulations & well done to Kiltegan U14 Camogie team who defeated Carnew Emmets in Co. U 14 Camogie Championship final under lights in Ballinakill on Wednesday night final score 6-6 to – 0-0.

A point from Sophie Bermingham got Kiltegan on the scoreboard which she followed with a goal. Chasing down everything, hassling, blocking and superb team work got the girls to half time on a scoreline of 4-4 to 0-0 with further scores from Amber House (1-0), Moya Cremin (1-0) and Sophie a further (0-3). A determined team took to the field once again to complete the task scoring a further 2-2 in this half and keeping a clean sheet Ciara Boland (1-0), Sophie Bermigham (1-2). There was never any doubt from the outset and the cup was coming back to Kiltegan.

There were jubilant scenes as joint captains Ciara Boland and Amber House accepted the cup on behalf of the team. An incredible year for this team winning League, Championship & All Ireland Feile Division 5 Shield.

Well done to all concerned especially the mentors & Coaches Paula Boland, Gerry Boland, Tom Cremin and everyone concerned with the team—well done all.

____——————————

A very disappointing performances buy our senior football team as they were beaten in the quarter final of the Co. senior Football Championship by a doggett Rathnew team in Aughrim, on Sunday the final score 2-13 to 2-6. We were always chasing the game from the throw in. After playing against a strong breeze we were behind at

half time 0-8 to 0-1. We played some what better for the first fifteen minutes of the second half, scoring a couple of goals, and at this stage we were only 2 points behind. Rathnew had other ideas in knowing how to win championship matches and they went on to close out the game and win by a large margin to qualify for the semi-finals. Our scores came from Seanie Furling 1-3 Derek Daly 1-0, Padraig O’Toole, Jeffrey Bermingham & P Dalton one point each. We now may look forward to qualifying for the final of the Co. Football League in a couple of weeks.

Our Junior Football team are the last team standing they take Rathnew in the Semi-Final of the Co. Junior B Football Championship at Avondale on Saturday at 3.30. Our Junior B Football team had a great win over Lacken in Lacken on Saturday evening in the 4 West C Football League Division 4 to Qualify for the final of this competition against Blessington in Kiltegan on Saturday 22th September at 5pm. We were always in control of this game and went on to win a score line of 4-18 to 2-4. Our scores came from Luke Byrne 3-3, Mark Pierce 1-3 Mark Ryan, 0-4, Dean Carney 0-3, Mark Ryan 0-3, Emmet Murphy, Wayne Nolan 2 each, Stephen Coogan 1 point. All roads lead to Baltinglass on Saturday when Kiltegan camogie team take on Annacurra in the final of the Co. Junior Camogie Championship at Baltinglass on Saturday at 12.30. Everyone’s support of the team would be appreciated.
