A Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, Township of Woodbridge, was held on April 29, 2010 at approximately 7:00 p.m. in the Avenel Middle School, Woodbine Avenue, Avenel, New Jersey.

The meeting opened with the Salute to the Flag and a moment of silence. The President, Brian Small presided.

Board members present: Diane Acquisto, John Golden, Judy Leidner, Lawrence Miloscia, Ezio Tamburello, George Yuhasz, Brian Small. Brian Molnar and Jonathan Triebwasser were absent.

Board personnel present: John Crowe, Dennis DeMarino, Jonathan Busch, Lois Rotella, Angela Korodan, Rita Miller, Anthony D’Orsi, Barbara DeRollo. Viola Lordi arrived at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Business Administrator/Board Secretary, Dennis DeMarino, read the following statement regarding the Open Public Meetings Law:

"The New Jersey Open Public Meetings Law was enacted to insure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of public bodies at which any business affecting their interest is discussed or acted upon. In accordance with the provisions of this act, the Board of Education had caused notice of these meetings to be published by having the date, time and place, thereof, posted as follows:

On a motion by Ms. Acquisto, seconded by Mr. Yuhasz and carried, the following Minutes were approved:

Mr. DeMarino stated there was no Correspondence to report.

Mr. Small welcomed new Board member, John Golden. Mr. Small explained that Mr. Triebwasser was absent from the meeting due to a death in his family. He stated the Board’s thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

Dr. Crowe gave his overview of the district stating the 2010-2011 budget was not certified by the voters of Woodbridge Township. He advised, the budget now goes to the Town Council who will meet next week to review. Dr. Crowe advised following their review, the Town Council will decide what cuts, if any, will be made. Dr. Crowe stated the district will move forward and continue to provide a thorough and robust education so our

students will continue to achieve. He further stated he will keep the Board and public informed of all activities regarding the budget.

Dr. Crowe introduced Mr. McLaughlin, Principal of Colonia High School to introduce the participants of the Waksman Scholars Program. Chantel Greffer, a teacher at Colonia High School, began the presentation, explaining the history of Colonia High School’s involvement in the Waksman Scholars Program. She stated it is a molecular biology research program. The Colonia High School students involved in this year’s research program are Ravi Shah and Ruby Gupta.

Mr. Tamburello congratulated the students on their scholarly endeavors. He advised there is a wildlife preserve on Omar Avenue in Avenel which is a 100 acre biotech lab located in Woodbridge Township.

Mr. Small then called for Committee reports.

The Superintendent of Schools presented the following recommendations:

1. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending Salvatore Catanzaro, an 8th grade student at Woodbridge Middle School, for his accomplishment in the Woodbridge Reads Logo Contest sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Education Association and the Woodbridge Township School District Art Department.

2. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending Dennis Henry, a 12th grade student at Woodbridge High School, for his accomplishments in the Patriotic Picture Drawing Contest sponsored by the American Legion.

3. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending students from Colonia High School who were selected for induction into the National Honor Society.

4. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending students from Colonia High School who were selected for induction into the French Honor Society.

5. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending students from John F. Kennedy Memorial High School who were selected for induction into the National Honor Society.

Ms. Acquisto moved for the adoption of the Superintendent’s recommendations, seconded by Mr. Yuhasz. There were no comments or questions from the Board or public. With all Board members present voting in favor, the foregoing was adopted.

Dr. Crowe stated Salvatore Catanzaro, a Woodbridge Middle School 8th grade student, is being commended for his accomplishments in the Woodbridge Reads logo contest sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Education Foundation and the Woodbridge Township School District art department.

Dr. John Crowe read a short biography about, and introduced Jorge Rivera, a John F. Kennedy High School student, who provided information about current activities at the school.

The Policy and Planning Committee, on the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, presented the following:

1. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution proclaiming the month of May 2010 as ALS Awareness Month and May 19, 2010, as ALS Day.

2. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending Woodbridge Middle School teacher, Noreen McHale, for her selection for membership into Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

3. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending district professional staff and support staff on their selection to receive the 2010 “Excellence in Education Award” from the Woodbridge Township Education Foundation.

4. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution proclaiming the week of May 2 - 8, 2010, as Teacher Appreciation Week.

5. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution proclaiming May 12, 2010, as National School Nurse Day.

Ms. Leidner moved for the adoption of the Policy and Planning recommendations, seconded by Ms. Acquisto. There were no comments or questions from the Board or public. With all Board members present voting in favor, the foregoing was adopted.

Ms. Leidner presented the Policy and Planning resolution proclaiming the month of May as ALS Awareness month to Abbey Anderson. Ms. Leidner then presented a Policy and Planning resolution to Noreen Hale for her selection for membership into Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

The Curriculum Committee, on the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, presented the following:

4. That the Board of Education approve the pilot class using Miller & Levine Biology from Pearson at John F. Kennedy High School to be extended through the 2010-2011 school year.

5. That the Board of Education approve payment, not to exceed $1,000.00, to Nancy Cuntala, 42 School Road, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889, to conduct professional development activities with the Woodbridge High School mathematics department during the 2009-2010 school year. (This replaces item # 19 on the December 17, 2009 Personnel Agenda) This contract is awarded without competitive bidding as a “Professional Service” under the provisions of the Public School Contract Law (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5). All services will be provided by a professional development services specialist. (Payment will be upon voucher submitted from funded account).

Mr. Tamburello moved for the adoption of the Curriculum recommendations, seconded by Ms. Leidner. During Board discussion, Mr. Tamburello asked if the summer reading recommendations have been updated. Ms. Rotella stated there are several new initiatives. She stated the district is working with the public library at the elementary level where a hundred books are being made available for 1st grade students. Ms. Rotella stated the big push is at the middle school and high school levels, noting that young men are not reading like they should be. She stated there is a committee of teachers who have volunteered to put together a list of books for the middle and high school students which will be rich with literature that will appeal to both young males and females. Ms. Rotella stated the most important thing parents can do for their children over the summer is

encourage them to read. There were no comments or questions from the public. With all Board members present voting in favor, the foregoing was adopted.

The Finance and Insurance Committee, on recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and the Business Administrator/Board Secretary, presented the following:

1. That the Board of Education approves payment of the bills in the amount of $18,348,685.74 and the Food Service Department bills in the amount of $369,908.99.

2. That the amount of district taxes needed to meet the obligations of this Board for the next thirty-one day period, beginning May 2010 is:

Requisition for Taxes for the General Fund in the amount of $12,363,212.00 and for the Debt Service in the amount of $327,183.00; totaling $12,690,395.00,

and that the Township Council is hereby requested to place in the hands of the Treasurer of School Monies that amount by May 10, 2010.

3. That the Board of Education accept the Report of the Secretary for the month of March 2010.

4. That the Board of Education accept the attached Business Administrator/Board Secretary's Monthly Interest and Investment Report for the month of March 2010.

5. That the bookkeeping transfers pertaining to the 2009-10 budgetary accounts be approved as per the attached list.

6. That the Board of Education accept the previously submitted Report of the Treasurer for the month of February 2010, as it agrees with the Report of the Secretary. The March 2010, Treasurer’s Report has not been received.

7. That the members of the Board of Education certify that to the best of their knowledge no major account or fund has been overexpended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10(b) and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district's financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

8. That the Board of Education readopt the 2009-10 School Year Budget changing the total from $192,751,967.32 to $192,754,492.53 to reflect the following:

WTEF Grant $2,525.51 9. That the Board of Education approve the previously submitted agreement between the Woodbridge

Township Board of Education and the Huaxia Edison Chinese School for use of Woodbridge High School for the provision of cultural educational services for the period September 12, 2010 through June 12, 2011. Payment for use of this facility shall be in the amount of $77,000.00, to be paid in ten equal monthly installments of $7,700.00.

10. That the Board of Education approve the renewal of the 403(b) Plan Document for Public Education Organizations to OMNI Group, 1099 Jay Street, Bldg. F, Rochester, NY 14611, at a cost of $28,800. OMNI Group shall serve as 3rd party administrator, and in that capacity, shall work with all service providers to ensure compliance with all IRS regulations. (Finance & Insurance, Item #12 12/18/08, 2 quotes received.)

Mr. Tamburello moved for the adoption of the Finance and Insurance recommendations, seconded by Mr. Yuhasz. During Board discussion Ms. Leidner questioned a capital supply payment on the bill list. Mr. DeMarino responded.

Ms. Acquisto asked for an explanation on the WTEF Grant listed in Item #8. Ms. Rotella explained the Woodbridge Township Education Foundation is a group of private citizens and business leaders who are involved with working solely to raise funds for classroom initiatives. She stated one of the activities they sponsored raised the money listed which will be used to acquire technology for our science labs. Ms. Rotella thanked the WTEF for their continued support.

Mr. Tamburello asked what days of the week the organization will be using our facility in Item #9. Mr. DeMarino responded the building will be used by the organization on Sundays only.

There were no comments or questions from the public. With all Board members present voting in favor, the foregoing was adopted.

The Technology Committee, on the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, presented the following:

1. That the Board of Education approve the submission of the Woodbridge Township School District Technology Plan 2010 – 2013 to the Middlesex County Superintendent of Schools.

Mr. Miloscia moved for the adoption of the Technology recommendation, seconded by Ms. Acquisto. During Board discussion, Ms. Rotella stressed the importance of technology in the district. Ms. Rotella stated in 1999 the State came up with a three-year technology plan which was how each district envisions technology down the road. Ms. Rotella stated so many goals that had been set were accomplished. She thanked the Board for their continued support in meeting the district’s technology vision. Ms. Rotella thanked the community members for their involvement as well.

Ms. Leidner asked what the guidelines are that must be followed, expressing concern over the amount of money allocated for 2011-12. Ms. Rotella responded.

With all Board members present voting in favor, the foregoing was adopted. The Athletics and Extra-Curricular Committee, on the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, presented the following:

1. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the Colonia High School athletes who gained individual honors for outstanding performances in the 2009-2010 winter sports season.

2. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the Colonia High School Girls’ Bowling Team for having won the 2009-2010 White Division Champions of the Greater Middlesex Conference

3. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending Thomas Lagowski of Colonia High School who was selected as the 2009-2010 Girls’ Bowling “Coach of the Year” by the White Division of the Greater Middlesex Conference and the Home News Tribune.

4. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School athletes who gained individual honors for outstanding performances in the 2009-2010 winter sports season.

5. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School Boys’ Basketball Team for having won the 2009-2010 Gene Haley Memorial Holiday Tournament.

6. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School Boys’ Bowling Team for having won the 2009-2010 Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division Championship.

7. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School Boys’ Bowling Team the 2009-2010 Sportsmanship Award for the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division.

8. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School Boys’ Winter Track Team the 2009-2010 Sportsmanship Award for the Greater Middlesex Conference White Division.

9. That the Board of Education adopt the attached resolution commending the John F. Kennedy Memorial High School Wrestling Team for having won the 2009-2010 NJSIAA District 19 Championship, the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division Championship, the New Providence Invitational Championship and the Rahway Invitational Championship.

Terms of lease require that Praxair be notified of renewal by August 1, 2010.

5. That the Board of Education adopt the following resolution.

WHEREAS, the Woodbridge Township Board of Education, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-10a and N.J.A.C. 5:34-7.29(c), may by resolution and without advertising for bids, purchase any goods or services under the State of New Jersey Cooperative Purchasing Program for any State contracts entered into on behalf of the State by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of the Treasury; and

WHEREAS, the Woodbridge Township Board of Education has the need on a timely basis to purchase goods or services utilizing State contracts; and

WHEREAS, the Woodbridge Township Board of Education intends to enter into contracts with the attached Referenced State Contract Vendors through this resolution and properly executed contracts, which shall be subject to all the conditions applicable to the current State contracts.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Woodbridge Township Board of Education authorizes the Purchasing Agent to purchase certain goods or services from those approved New Jersey State

Mr. Golden moved for the adoption of the Transportation recommendations, seconded by Mr. Tamburello. During Board discussion, Mr. Yuhasz asked Mr. DeMarino to elaborate on Item #3. Mr. DeMarino stated Item #3 provides for random driver drug testing and post accident testing as required by law.

Ms. Leidner asked for an explanation on what specifically would be purchased in Item #5. Mr. DeMarino stated it allows the district to utilize state contracts when purchasing supplies. Mr. DeMarino asked counsel to further elaborate. Mr. Busch explained that Item #5 allows the district to purchase through state contracts, avoiding the bid process.

There were no comments or questions from the public. With all Board members present voting in favor, the foregoing was adopted. Board Attorney, Jonathan Busch, had nothing to bring before the Board for open session. Under "Old Business," Mr. Tamburello, on behalf of himself and the newly elected Board President, thanked the participants of the budget focus group who met on Sunday evenings throughout the winter months. Mr. Small thanked Mr. Tamburello for his time. Under “New Business," Ms. Leidner announced Senior Idol will be held at the Community Center on May 29 at 7:00 p.m. for seniors over the age of 55.

Ms. Rotella stated that the middle schools are currently in the middle of NJASK testing. Ms. Rotella stated the early dismissal schedule has greatly helped the children during the testing period.

Ms. Leidner congratulated the Kennedy High School Parent Faculty Forum on the success of the annual gift auction.

Mr. Tamburello agreed with Ms. Rotella’s comments regarding early dismissal on the ASK testing days.

Mr. Tamburello announced the Woodbridge Idol will take place on April 30th at Woodbridge High School. The Board President opened the meeting to the public. During this portion, T. Maras, Fords, expressed condolences to the Triebwasser family. Mr. Maras asked the status of the cafeteria workers. Dr. Crowe stated the RFP is out. Mr. DeMarino explained six companies have returned the RFP. He stated now that the new Committee is formed, he is hoping to move forward at the May meeting. Mr. DeMarino stated he will bring the three best proposals to the Committee. Mr. Maras asked if the company will hire our current employees. Dr. Crowe replied, yes. Mr. Maras stated there is speculation regarding a shared service agreement for custodians with the town. Dr. Crowe stated there has been discussion, but he does not believe it is a shared service. Mr. Maras asked what happens after the Town Council reviews the defeated budget. Dr. Crowe stated upon review, the Town Council will make a recommendation to keep the budget where it is or they will implement reductions. Dr. Crowe stated if reductions are recommended, he would suggest that the entire Board meet to

decide where those cuts should be made. Mr. Maras questioned the time frame on the various contracts. Dr. Crowe reviewed the time period for each unit. Mr. Maras made additional comments regarding contracts and salaries. Dr. Crowe stated no negotiations have taken place. Mr. Maris made suggestions regarding raises.

Mr. Maras commented on the security in the schools.

V. Romanienko, Woodbridge, thanked the Board, Administrators and community for their hard work on the budget. Ms. Romanienko made several comments regarding the district custodians. She commented further on secretarial cuts.

Ms. Romanienko asked if the district is looking for property to eliminate the leasing of the transportation garage in Keasbey. Mr. DeMarino stated the purchasing of property will need public approval. He stated there are 100 buses and 80 drivers with cars which require approximately 10 acres. He stated he is currently looking into a joint venture with the Mayor. Dr. Crowe stated he shares the desire of Ms. Roamanienko to return many things to the budget, however with a defeated budget it is impossible to put any items back into the budget. Ms. Romanienko announced the Special Needs Expo will take place on June 7 at School #28.

Theresa K., Avenel, stated she sympathizes with the employees being cut from the budget. She stated she is concerned about the elimination of elementary band. Dr. Crowe stated the budget is now before the Town Council. He stated the Administration will do everything possible to keep the program intact.

L. McGeehan, Colonia, congratulated the new Board members. Ms. McGeehan commented on an earlier conversation regarding bringing some custodians back into the budget. Dr. Crowe stated there has been no Board sanctioned meeting or recommendation from him to put any item back into the budget which has already been taken out.

Ms. Leidner stated she believes if the Board went against the recommendation of the Administration to privatize custodians, the money would come out of the 5.5 million that is budgeted for the purpose of privatizing those services. Ms. Leidner stated she concurs with Ms. Romanienko regarding the state of the budget. Ms. Leidner further stated that as Chair of the Cafeteria Committee she would like to discuss with Mr. Small other avenues so the cafeteria personnel do not lose their jobs. Ms. Leidner stated she has expressed concern over privatizing all custodians since it would require the company to have keys to our schools. She stated she has discussed the possibility of retaining the supervising custodians. Ms. Leidner stated there is an abundance of uncertainty surrounding the custodial staff. She asked that someone inform the custodians and the WTEA of the direction that they should be going. Dr. Crowe stated all questions regarding the contract should be directed to the unions directly and all questions regarding personnel should be directed to Ms. Korodan. Mr. DeMarino stated he will work with Ms. Korodan to put a memo together advising the status of sick time, etc. Ms. Rotella stated the teachers affected will need to receive the same type of information. Ms. Korodan stated the information was given to the WTEA and any employee who spoke to her.

D. Pinkowitz, Iselin, stated he is disappointed in the amount of time spent discussing how unfair the Governor is. He stated the district must look forward and seek creative solutions. Dr. Crowe stated the Administration and Board is not complaining but simply pointing out that Woodbridge has been underfunded. Dr. Crowe stated the district can not sit back and not challenge the Governor and legislators. Mr. Pinkowitz made additional comments regarding employee contract negotiations. He commented on the line item entitled Board Secretary Office noting that there is no description of what the money was being spent on. Mr. DeMarino stated the Administration has worked and continues to works numerous hours putting together a budget. He stated the budget process has always been an open public process with no hidden costs. Mr. DeMarino stated every dollar is accounted for. Dr. Crowe stated this year’s budget process has been completely transparent. Mr. DeMarino suggested Mr. Pinkowitz check budgets from other school districts and compare them to Woodbridge. He explained that there are budget codes and state guidelines that have to be adhered to. Mr. DeMarino invited Mr. Pinkowitz to sit with him and work on the budget for 2011-12. Mr. Tamburello stated the Board would be remiss if they did not alert the public that the defeated budget is the continuation of the budget process. Mr. Tamburello stated the budget process for 2011-12 has already started in discussion the day following the failed budget. Mr. Tamburello stated the budget process is a 12 month process. Mr. Miloscia stated there are approximately 2000 line items in the budget. He stated if an explanation was given for each item, it would result in a 1600 page document.

D. Rodriguez, Colonia, asked what the public can do to address the Town Council regarding the budget. Mr. DeMarino advised the Administration, a Committee of the Board and the Town Council will meet on May 4 to discuss further cuts. Mr. DeMarino reminded the public the Town Council can only give a figure to be cut, not tell the Board where to cut it from. Mr. DeMarino explained that once the cut is received from the Council, the Board will hold a public meeting to discuss further cuts, if necessary. He stated the budget must be certified by May 19 so all meetings will need to take place prior to that date. Ms. Rodriguez asked again what the public can do. Dr. Crowe stated the district continues to have a very good relationship with the Town Council and cautioned that we do not want to alienate them in any way. Dr. Crowe verified with Mr. DeMarino that the Town Council will hold an open public meeting prior to the Board’s adoption of the revised budget. Ms. Leidner asked if it would not be beneficial if a parent expresses to a Town Council member that they would hope there would not be a lot of cuts from this budget. Dr. Crowe stated he feels the Town Council, like this Board, is eager to hear from any parent regarding a concern. Mr. Miloscia stated he believes the May 4 session of the Town Council is the Closed Session and the May 11 session would be open to the public. Mr. Tamburello stated he believes the public is allowed to speak at either meeting. M. Padden, Fords, asked if the PTO’s are able to fundraise for the purpose of reinstating programs. She asked who decides which programs should be reinstated. Dr. Crowe stated the PTO’s can start discussing the reinstatement of programs with the individual principals as well as the Central Administrators. Mr. Busch advised that the district has policies on grants and gifts and suggested that the PTO’s review this policy. A parent stated she moved from New York to Woodbridge several years ago based on the reputation the Woodbridge School District has. She asked that the Board and Administration keep the advance placement courses that are currently in the curriculum. Dr. Crowe stated Woodbridge offers more AP classes than any other district in the state. He stated the Administration will fight to keep these programs going. V. Romanienko, Woodbridge, asked how many students attend the G&T Arts program. Ms. Rotella stated there are 872 students in the K through 12 program. Ms. Romanienko asked if that figure includes academics as well. Ms. Rotella responded there are approximately 1200 students in the G&T Academics program. Ms. Romanienko asked the cost of the G&T Arts program. Ms. Rotella responded $158,000. Ms. Romanienko stated several organizations, such as cheerleading, fundraise for various competitions, and asked if it would be possible for parents to fundraise for the G&T Arts program. Ms. Rotella stated the G&T Arts program is one of the bigger loses in the district, in her opinion. Mr. Tamburello acknowledged the desire for the PTO’s involvement in fundraising to reinstated programs. He stated the Mayor has established a Committee on education. He stated there will be a web-site available shortly where businesses and community leaders can offer assistance to the schools. Mr. Tamburello advised the Committee is entitled the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Education. He explained the school will put up a need which will then be considered by the Committee. Mr. Tamburello thanked the Mayor for forming this Committee. Ms. Cozzola, Colonia, stressed that the public is not the enemy and defended the remarks made by the resident of Iselin earlier in the evening. She commented on the programs being cut from the budget. Ms. Cozzola stated the community as a whole is willing to circumvent the tremendous program cuts in the district. Dr. Crowe stated the Board and Administration encourage the public to come to the microphone to express their concerns and ideas. Ms. Acquisto then presented to the Board for its consideration, a resolution for a Closed Session to discuss subjects exempted from the public portion of the meeting. The discussion to be held in Closed Session will be about personnel matters which include: resignations; extensions of sympathy; retirements; leaves of absence; adjustments in salaries; establishment of non-certified substitute rates for 2010-2011; transfer; appointments of; substitutes; which include substitute teachers, and paraprofessionals; appointments of staff members for committees, after-school and professional development activities, home instructors, and chief affirmative action officer . Changes in coach assignments; retroactive approval of employee agreements for discretionary central office administrators; Reappointments of staff members as follows: discretionary central administrators; administrators; teachers and athletic trainers, paraprofessionals, bus attendants, health aides, school aides, secretaries (including administrative secretaries), attendance and transportation personnel, technical employees, tradesmen, and non-certificated discretionary employees, employee dismissal, employee

suspension and an increment withholding. There will also be discussion of employee requests for salary minus substitute fees Any information regarding the Closed Session discussion will be released to the public when the reasons for discussing these matters in Closed Session no longer exist. between the Board and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Lois Rotella, for the period from July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010, and authorize the Board President, and the Board Secretary as the attesting witness, to execute the agreement on the Board’s behalf.

33. That the Board of Education retroactively approve the previously submitted employment agreement

between the Board and Angela M. Korodan for the position of Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Services, for the period July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010, and authorize the Board President, and the Board secretary as the attesting witness, to execute the agreement on the Board’s behalf.

37. That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Angela Korodan as Chief Affirmative

the previously submitted list. That the Board of Education approve the following resolution: 39. WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Schools has recommended that the Woodbridge Township

Board of Education withhold Paula Weckesser’s employment and adjustment increments for the 2010-2011 school year due to the reasons set forth in the Superintendent’s letter to Ms. Weckesser dated April 12, 2010, advising her of the Superintendent’s recommendation to withhold her increments; and

WHEREAS, following due consideration, the Board agrees with the recommendation of the

Superintendent and the reasons therefor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Woodbridge Township Board of Education that

Paula Weckesser’s employment and adjustment increments for the 2010-2011 school year shall be withheld so that her 2010-2011 salary shall be fixed at $86,631.00, which is the same as her salary for the 2009-2010 school year; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that, within 10 days of the date this resolution is approved by the Board,

the Superintendent hereby is directed to provide Ms. Weckesser with a copy of this resolution notifying her that her employment and adjustment increments have been withheld.

The Personnel Committee, on recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Services, presents the following:
