Since ShAFF started in 2006, 100% of the audience have said they will come back again and recommend the festival to a friend. We’re proud of that!

‘How To’ Guide

There are 80 films showing at ShAFF this year. Films are grouped into themed sessions lasting between one and two hours. There are 4 Adrenaline, 6 Bike, 8 Climb, 2 Mountain, 2 Run, 3 Ski & Board, 5 Spirit Of Adventure and 3 Surf & Kayak sessions. There are also 4 screenings of our special ‘Young Adventurer’ family-friendly children’s sessions and this year two new ‘Teen Screens’ for teenagers.

If that’s not enough, there’s our ‘Adventure Bites’ never-ending loop of the best short films from the festival, screening all weekend.

Sessions are spread across the weekend to help you maximise your viewing. There are also a variety of lectures and special events by high-profile climbers, runners and bikers. In between times you can relax in the café / bar with live music, get active, check out the kit sale and the all-new Cityscape Cinema (a 2 hour outdoor event above the trail station courtesy of Red Bull) and, if it all gets too much, have a free sports-massage!

Tickets are sold for individual sessions and events. You can buy tickets individually or in a discounted carnet.

All sessions apart from Young Adventurers 1 & 2, our Teen Screens and Adventure Bites are certificate 18. This is not because the films necessarily warrant an 18 certificate, but because without undergoing a costly process we have to certify them as 18. Sorry. The worst you will see and hear is a little strong language. Note that session times are combined film run-times, and do not account for introductions, transitions etc. Children will also be allowed into all Live Events and Lectures, but we can’t be held responsible for any strong language used.
