At Tiffi n University, our students endeavour to excel in both the classroom and the athletic arena. Our athletic pro-grams have enjoyed tremendous success in recent years with conference championships, teams being nationally ranked and challenging at national tournaments. There have been numerous individual ac-colades including All-Americans, and it is no small accomplishment that in the past few years we have set new standards of excellence with our individual and team academic achievements. We expect our student-athletes to be just as successful in the classroom. A recent self study con-ducted by the university indicated that, of all the athletes who completed their eligibility at Tiffi n Uni-versity in the last fi ve years, 95% of those athletes graduated. While many colleges would be ecstatic with these results, we will never be content until it is 100%. We are proud of our rich history and look forward to setting new milestones as we enter the NCAA Division II playing fi eld and the highly competitive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. We are proud of our athletes and what they have accomplished. They have been the force behind the winning tradition that has been established, and I am confi dent the future will also be highly successful for Tiffi n University athletics.

Dragons Head Coach Erica BrownErica Brown recently completed her fi rst year as Head Wom-en’s Lacrosse Coach at Tiffi n University.

Brown previously served as Head Coach at Lycoming Col-lege, leading the team to a 19-17 overall record, 15-8 in the Middle Atlantic Conference over her two seasons. During that span she coached three All-Region and nine All-Conference players while also guiding 18 student-athletes to Academic All-Conference honors.

In her fi rst season with Lycoming, Brown posted a 7-4 con-ference recordand led the Lady Warriors to the fi rst round of theMiddle Atlantic Conference playoffs.

Brown also served two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at nearby Lock Haven University, working with the Division II Lady Eagles’ lacrosse program.

While at Lock Haven, she assisted the coaching staff with all areas of running the program, including recruiting, gameday preparation, conditioning, academic monitoring and fund-raising. The Lady Eagles posted a combined record of 33-6 in her two years on the staff, including a trip to the NCAA Final

Four in 2007.

That same year, Brown coached the Division II Midfi elder of the Year, two fi rst team All-Americans, two second team All-Ameri-cans and two All-NCAA Tournament players. In her two years at Lock Haven, she coached a total of seven All-Americans.

Brown also spent much of 2012 as 2016 Elite Coach for T3 La-crosse Club in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. She also was a clinic instructor teaching lacrosse basics to players between 10-18 years of age.

She played lacrosse at Wagner University. A standout goalkeeper, Brown still ranks second all-time in Wagner history in career minutes played, career saves and career goals against average. She also holds the record for minutes played in a season and ranks second in saves in a season. A co-captain of the team in her senior year, she was ranked on lax.com as one of the top-12 goal-ies in all of Division I.

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy and adminis-tration from Wagner in 2005 and is fi nishing her master’s degree in liberal arts from Lock Haven. She is certifi ed as a lacrosse referee by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) and U.S. Lacrosse.

2013 Dragons Lacrosse ReviewIt was an amazing season for Tiffi n as they went 6-2 in the GLIAC and 10-9 overall under fi rst year coach Erica Brown. The Dragons broke the school record for wins and reached the GLIAC Championship game, an incredible turnaround after a 3-14 season in 2012. Their win-loss ratio from 2012 to 2013 of +6 was the most improved mark in the nation in 2013. Tiffi n also fi nished fi fth in NCAA DII in points with 439.

It was the year of Alexandria the Great, senior Alexandria Quast. She set numerous school records and broke four NCAA records. Quast set single-game NCAA Division II records with 13 as-sists and 20 points against Walsh (April 5). Her points were an all-NCAA division record. For the season, she scored a record 105 goals, the fi rst NCAA Division I or II player to reach the 100 goal mark. Quast also broke the all-time leading scorer mark during the season with 412 points. She eventually placed second all-time behind Long Island Post’s Jackie Sileo.

Quast, who earned All-GLIAC First Team and Synapse Sports All-America Second Team honors, closed the season with 105 goals and 71 assists for 176 points. She led the country in four categories and is among the top four in a total of seven. For her

career, Quast tallied 288 goals (2nd best in NCAA DII history) with 124 assists. She holds every TU game, season and career record except for one.

Sophomore Jessica Bombard was named the GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year. She led the country in saves with 219 and was fourth with 11.53 saves per game. Bombard set the single-game record with 22 saves against Grand Valley State in the GLIAC Champi-onship game.

Joining Bombard and Quast on the fi rst team was Alexis Mac-Millan and Megan Belch. MacMillan had 35 goals with 47 assists for 82 points. She ranks among the top 10 in the country in total assists and assists per game. Belch had a solid season as a defender with two assists and was second on the team with 13 caused turnovers.

Garnering Second Team honors were Emily Roussel, Katelyn Hill and Kalie Weinheimer.

Earning Synapse Sports All-Rookie honors were Hill and Rous-sel.

Lacrosse FacilitiesFrost-Kalnow Stadium

Tiffi n University enjoys playing its home wom-en’s lacrosse games at Frost-Kalnow Stadium, a recently renovated facility that seats 4,500 and is recognized as one of the premier foot-ball stadiums in Northwest Ohio.

The stadium is shared by Tiffi n University, Columbian High School and Calvert High School, and was originally built by Franklin Roosevelt’s WPA during the 1930s. Recently millions of dollars were spent in the renova-tion of the existing structure and the installa-tion of state-of-the-art artifi cial turf.

Paradiso FieldsThe Dragons also have a large prac-tice facility at the Tiffi n University Athletic Fields, a recently developed property close to the TU campus. The location is just 1.5 miles from the Tif-fi n University campus and resides on 78 acres of land that also house all of the outdoor athletics teams at TU. The Athletic Fields, which debuted in the Fall of 1997, feature a baseball fi eld, two softball fi elds, two soccer fi elds, an outdoor track facility, and two football practice fi elds.

Lacrosse FacilitiesHeminger Center

The latest addition to the campus, the Heminger Center, features an indoor track and fi eld complex and a 60x50 yard turf indoor practice facility.

One major portion of the build-ing includes an indoor track and four multi-purpose courts that will be used for basketball, vol-leyball, and tennis. The other large portion has artifi cial turf and will be used for practices by the TU football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball teams, in addition to intramurals, club sports and other recreational ac-tivities. The middle section of the

facility has coaches’ offi ces, locker rooms, an athletic training room, two classrooms, and a food court.

Physical Fitness CenterTU also enjoys using the Tiffi n University Physical Fitness Center, yet another recently expanded facility benefi ting the student-athlete on TU’s ever-growing campus. The facility, which recently doubled in size, features a cutting-edge weight center that is continually upgraded with new equipment.

Tiffi n University Lacrosse - 2013 Athletic Honors

Quast named Synapse Sports All-AmericanAlexandria Quast was named Second Team All-American by Synapse Sports and womenslacrosse.com, as their annual Division II and III teams were released Thursday.

Quast enjoyed a tremendous senior season. She fi nished with an NCAA record 105 goals on the sea-son and 176 points, the second highest single season total in NCAA history. Quast also fi nished with an NCAA Division II record 412 career points along with 288 career goals, second in NCAA history. She completes her career holding single game records with 13 assists and 20 points, the single season goal record (105), and the career points record (412).

Freshmen Katelyn Hill and Emily Roussel (right) also earned honors as they were select-ed to the All-Rookie Team. Hill had 40 goals and 13 assists for 53 points and was fi rst in the nation in draw controls with 7.47 per game (142 total). Roussel was second on the team with 63 goals along with 14 assists for 77 points, good for 23rd in the nation in scoring

and 11th in overall goals.

Bombard named Goalkeeper of the YearTiffi n University’s Jessica Bombard was named GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year by vote of the conference coaches, as the GLIAC released the all-conference selections at the GLIAC Women’s Lacrosse Tourna-ment.

Bombard, second in the nation in saves, was a First Team selection for Tiffi n, which reached the GLIAC Championship game with a 13-11 win over Lake Erie.

Alexandria Quast, who has 99 goals and 166 points on the season, was a First Team selection. She set a new NCAA single season record for goals and is currently the NCAA career points record holder.

Alexis MacMillan (35 goals, 82 points) was named First Team attacker while Megan Belch also landed on the First Team at defender.

Garnering Second Team honors were Emily Roussel (63 goals, 77 points) and Katelyn Hill (38 goals, 51 points). Kalie Weinheimer was also a Second Team pick at defender.

2011: Was 7-7 with 157 saves and a 15.37 GAA ... Had a career-high 15 saves versus Edinboro (April 12) and Notre Dame College (April 14) ... In NCAA Division II, was ninth in saves per game (10.47) and 15th in total saves.

2010: Was 0-2 with 22 saves in two appearances ... Started all 11 games she played outside the net.
