As we go to print, 2013-14 has been another memorable year here on “The Nest”; five more championships plus three more NCAA Tournament appearances – including Women’s Swimming & Diving finishing 32nd in the nation; record setting Alico Arena crowds and more victories over BCS programs in a number of sports; another record cumulative grade point average and our fourth FGCU Hall of Famer (Sarah Hansen), as well as countless community service hours by our Eagle athletes and staff. We are certainly proud of our achievements on and off the various playing venues. Moving ahead, the key to our future accomplishments will be our abilities to continue to generate much needed additional external resources. Hence, we must continue to grow our Eagles Club membership, amongst other avenues (i.e., ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, etc.). Therefore, if you are not already involved, please seriously consider joining our company. With an awesome beginning to our FGCU story, our best years lie just ahead! Your continued support and generosity greatly enhances our path to future successes, and we are very thankful for all those who have been with us as loyal season ticket holders and Eagles Club Members. We look forward to sharing many future Green & Blue victory celebrations with our great Eagle Club Members in the years ahead. In the meantime, thanks for all that you do for FGCU Athletics! On behalf of all our student-athletes and coaches, I want to extend our tremendous appreciation to all those who have helped make our numerous successes possible.

In turn, we feel very fortunate to know so many of you personally and to be able to call you our friends.

We look forward to sharing many future Green & Blue victory celebrations with our great Eagle Club Members in the years ahead.

In the meantime, thanks for all that you do for FGCU Athletics!

God Bless & Go Eagles!

DID YOU KNOW?FGCU has won a combined 36 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 7 years in Division I as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference and Coastal Collegiate Swim-ming Association.

In just 3 years of D-I postseason eligibility, FGCU has sent 8 teams to the NCAA Tournament, while men’s golf (2012, 2013), women’s swimming (2012, 2013, 2014) and men’s ten-nis (2014) have had an individual participate in their respec-tive NCAA Championship, for a total of 14 Eagle NCAA appear-ances!

FGCU won five additional regular-season A-Sun champion-ships in 2013-14: men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s bas-ketball, women’s basketball and baseball, with women’s bas-ketball claiming its second A-Sun Tournament title and NCAA berth. The five titles were the most for an A-Sun school since ETSU in 2008-09.

Swimmers Emma Svensson and Kira Toussaint led FGCU to 32nd in the nation at the NCAA Championship. A-Sun Men’s Tennis Player of the Year junior Jordi Vives represented FGCU at the NCAA Championship for the first time in program his-tory.

The Eagles produced three more All-Americans in 2013-14: Michael Murray and Jake Noll (baseball) joined Kira Toussaint (swimming and diving). They join 2010 National Player of the Year, Chris Sale (baseball).

FGCU’s student-athletes achieved a record-tying 3.31 se-mester GPA and a record-breaking 3.33 cumulative GPA in the Fall of 2013.

Backed by four A-Sun regular-season crowns and four more teams that finished in the top 3 of the conference standings, FGCU swept all three of the A-Sun All-Sport trophies in 2012-13.

In 2013, the FGCU men’s basketball team became the first No. 15 seed in NCAA Tournament history to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Dunk City became the Cinderella of the 2013 dance, as the high-flying Eagles defeated No. 2 seed George-town and No. 7 seed San Diego State.

JOIN THE EAGLES CLUB ANNUAL FUND The Eagles Club is the annual giving fund for athletics. The first step in supporting our programs, coaches, and student-athletes is to become a part of the Eagles Club. Increasing annual support is critical to provide the proper resources.

MAKE A GIFT TOWARD A SPECIAL PROJECT OR INITIATIVEWhile joining the Eagles Club is the first priority for supporters, it isn’t the only option. You can also make a gift that will be earmarked for a specific capital project, legacy fund, naming opportunity or endowment.

FIND OUT IF YOUR COMPANY PARTICIPATES IN A MATCHING GIFTS PROGRAMMany companies have programs in place whereby they match donations (sometimes doubling or even tripling the charitable portion of a gift). The individual donor receives credit for both their gift and the company’s match.

EAGLES CLUB CORPORATE MEMBERSHIPCorporate memberships are designed for businesses that don’t fit into the Corporate Sponsorship piece. We’ve found that Lawyers, CPA’s, Dentists, Golf Courses, etc can use an Eagles Club Corporate Membership to reward employees at athletic contests. Companies can make a tax deductible contribution today!

REFER A FRIEND TO THE EAGLES CLUBThe purpose of the Eagles Club is to help strengthen the re-source pool for our student-athletes by growing our member-ship base. Help us grow our membership numbers by refer-ring a friend, co-worker or fellow season ticket holder. Online, phone, e-mail or mail. *For more information go to FGCUAthletics.com/Giving/EaglesClub

REMEMBER FGCU ATHLETICS IN YOUR ESTATE PLANNINGYou can help ensure the continued success of FGCU Athletics in perpetuity by making a legacy gift. We will work with the planned giving staff at FGCU and you to determine a gift plan that best meets your financial and philanthropic goals.

EAGLES SCHOLARSHIP SOCIETY (ESS)The FGCU Athletics’ mission to provide the best athletic and academic experience for our student-athletes will endure with help from our most committed supporters. Joing the ESS paves the way for our student-athletes to become champions on the field/court and in the classroom!

7 WAYS TO GIVE

CHRIS SALE“The relationship that I had with our fans at FGCU was one of my favorite things about going to the ballpark. The generosity and camaraderie that was displayed every game was truly remarkable. I will always be proud to be an Eagle!”

BROOKE (YOUNGQUIST) SWEAT“Being a student athlete at FGCU was a great experience. The professors were understanding and wanted you to excel on the court as well as in the classroom and our coaches made it clear that academics come first. We were surrounded with unbelievable support from the community. It was such a special feeling winning on our home court in front of all our fans! I will always be proud to be an EAGLE!”

SARAH HANSEN“As a student athlete at FGCU, I believe I have been exposed to some of the most beneficial and rewarding experiences a college student could ask for. I have learned countless life lessons both on and off the court that will help me become successful in my post-basketball career. Additionally, I have had the privilege to develop relationship with the best fans in the country, that I am sure will survive long after I leave the hardwood of Alico Arena”
