Recognized as a Ten Star Chapter for its stellar programming, our AFP Central Florida Chapter is prepared to meet the diverse needs of the membership. We are proud of the rich programming, meaningful mentoring, collegiate chapter collaboration, CFRE program study groups and inclusive networking sessions offered throughout 2014.

This year’s goal was to strengthen our core work. The additional focus on diversity will lead our Central Florida chapter to attain AFP International Friends of Diversity designation in 2015. AFP Chapter board leaders passed a Resolution in October 2014 and a copy of this forward thinking resolution is included in this report.

You’ll find special attention to the numbers that quantify our AFP Central Florida chapter’s good work. Fiscal numbers, participation numbers, the number of educational offerings and the number of ways AFP Central Florida serves our members are all noted in the following pages.

Our work is the result of the important contributions to the voluntary sector made by individuals, corporations, foundations, and youth in our community. The elevation of the field of ethical fundraising continues through the work of AFP Central Florida. As fundraisers, we love our work and know how much it matters – but we also know success depends on more than our personal passion and commitment.

As I wrap up this year as president I’d like to give a special thank you to our board of directors, who have tirelessly given their time to support our members. I have been inspired by your commitment and appreciate all that you do to serve and enhance our AFP Central Florida community and am so thankful to have served by your side.

In 2014 the Summer Internship in Fundraising selection committee identified three University of Central Florida (UCF) undergraduate students and three Central Florida nonprofit agencies to benefit from this unique collaboration that a rewards participating agencies who complete the internship with $1,000 grants from AFP Central Florida.

AFP Central Florida and Rollins College PNLC co-founded the internship program in 2013 in response to a lack of experienced fundraising professionals who can meet the demand.
