As a result PGM prices in both rand and US dollar terms are likely to remain stagnant for some time, and margins will remain under severe pressure across the industry. Given these issues, the board has concluded that the only defensible strategy for any platinum producer is to cut all non- essential capital expenditure and place all non-contributing assets on care and maintenance while optimising profitable operations for maximum contribution in the current low price environment. The group's business plan is focused on cash conservation and the preservation of the company's reserves and resources until economic circumstances merit their extraction. Aquarius expects that operating its remaining two mines and its two tailings operations will maximise short and medium term cash flows, while the three mines currently not producing will all be maintained in a state to enable their rapid ramp up when PGM prices rise sufficiently to generate an economic return once again, and labour relations are stabilised.     DIE onwettige rioolstorting wat plaasvind, is uit nood en skynbaar munisipale onbekwaamheid gebore. Mnr. Ferdie Haefele, eienaar van Klitzgras, het ons uitgenooi om te kom kyk wat hy genoodsaak is om te doen.Dit blyk dat die Thaba Chweu munisipaliteit vroer die suigput riooldienste gelewer het, soos per hulle verantwoordelikheid vir hierdie munisipale diens. Ten spyte daarvan dat eienaars van suigputte hulle dienstegeld betaal, het die stadsraad hulle voertuie nie in stand gehou nie en is die voertuie buite werking of staan in werkwinkels waar niks gebeur nie. Hierdie diens is nou geprivatiseer. Volgens mnr. Haefele vra private operateurs n astronomiese bedrag om putte leeg te suig en was hy genoodsaak om self plan te maak.Hy het dus n tenk en pomp gekoop en tap nou weekliks die riool in die tenk op sy bakkie, waarna hy dit in die naaste munisipale lyn by n mangat intap. Ons het fotos daarvan geneem en kan nie anders nie as om saam te stem dat dit die enigste uitweg is.Ons nooi die Thaba Chweu munisipaliteit uit om ons van hulle kant van die storie te voorsien, indien hulle n ander antwoord op hierdie probleem het.Andre Coetzee.

    The man (23) appeared in the Lydenburg Magistrate Court on

    Friday. He wrote out three different cheques at Pick n Pay to

    the value of R21 000. Other cases are being

    investigated too.

    WinterkoueWINTERKOUE het my nooit regtig gepla nie. Warm somers wel. Ek kry gou warm en kook maklik soos my oorle pa se ou Ford Fairlane.Die lekkerste van winter is om in die aand tussen die kombersies in my kooi in te kruip en binne vyf minute is ek warm gebroei. Die elektriese kombers ding werk nie regtig vir my nie. Matilda se deel moet n halfuur voor slaaptyd aangesit word, maar myne bly

    maar af. Vir die warm somers het ek bel in n lekker groot lugversorger en in die winter stel jy hom op warm en siedaar!Maar ek moet erken, soos mens ouer word, word die winters ook erger. Die grootste probleem is my huis se dak. Tussen die plafon en die sink was daar niks, nie eers n velletjie plastiek nie. Hoe koud moet die arme mense in HOP huise kry, waar geen plafonne in is nie en hulle direk onder die sink, wat nat is van kondensaat, moet slaap?Maar ek het die oplossing gekry. Nie think pink nie. Die pienk matte kom nie oral in om die houtwerk nie en laat

    gapings waardeur die hitte in jou huis ontsnap.Ek het pas van die eco-insulation wat elders in die koerant adverteer word laat insit. Dit is gesnipperde papier wat behandel is teen knaagdiere en brand, wat met n masjien so 100mm dik bo-op jou plafon ingeblaas word. Ek het gegaan vir 135mm en boeta, dit werk!Ek het termometers op twee plekke in my huis. Met al die verwarmers kon ek nie die plek warmer as 17 grade kry in die nag nie. Nou is dit gou-gou 20 grade en dit daal nie meer tot 13 in die oggend nie, maar bly net-net bo 17. Dit gaan my energierekening laat daal en maak die huis se temperatuur baie meer egalig. En hulle s beste van alles, dit hou die hitte in die somer uit!

    JEREMIA 36:22Dit was winter en die koning het in die sonkamer gesit met n bak gloeiende kole voor hom. Here ons bid vir die wat omkom weens ontbering. Gee dat hulle ook n bietjie warmte mag geniet - Amen.

    Donker HoofstraatM.D. Le Roux skryf: Ek kom gereeld besoek afl in Lydenburg en die afgelope tyd was ek baie teleurgesteld om in die dorp in te ry in die aand vanaf die ingang vanaf Dullstroom se kant en te vind dat daar geen straatligte in die hoofstraat brand nie. Die straat is pikdonker met die gevolg dat dit baie gevaarlik is om daar te ry aangesien die stoptekens en slaggate in die pad baie moeilik sigbaar is. Ek sal dit dus hoog op prys stel dat hierdie gevaarlike situasie onder die aandag van die stadsraad van Lydenburg gebring word om die situasie omiddellik reg te stel, aangesien dit vir my as gereelde besoeker aan die dorp nie aanvaar- baar is nie en ek is seker vir talle ander besoekers aan die dorp.

Vorster skryf:n Egte waarderende dankie aan al die donateurs wat groente en vrugte aan die Rusoord Tehuis vir Bejaardes, vanaf plaaaslike boere asook Burgersfort, Roossenekal, Ohrigstad, Hoedspruit en Tzaneen beskikbaar stel. Namens die woonstelinwoners n egte en opregte dankie aan Rusoord wat ons ook laat deel in die toegif.

En om bloed goed te stop kan terpentyn op die wond gesit word of neem die wit van n eier, klits dit styf en vou n vierdubbele doek om dit. Selfs n wyn- en neutmuskaat pasta sal bloed stop. Slaap met n geskilde aartappel in jou bed om krampe in jou bene te keer. Of sit n magneet bo-op die kramp, stel n paar mense voor. Ander s weer mens moet op n yskoue vloer staan, dit sal die kramp laat ontspan. Een dame verseker dat hierdie raat vir slapeloosheid definitief werk. Neem n koue nat waslap en sit dit op die persoon se krop van sy maag en hy raak onmiddellik aan die slaap. Hierdie raat kom uit n boek gedateer 1918 en dit werk glo definitief. Dis glo n beproefde raat. En dis dalk nie n Boereraat nie. Maar ek weet vir n feit dat olievlekke op materiaal uitkom deur insekdoder daarop te spuit. Die dames onder ons het ook Boererate spesiaal vir hulle. Om byvoorbeeld die sap van een suurlemoen in n halfbottel aptekersparafien te gooi. Skud dit goed en wend met n watte soggens en saans aan om die vel te reinig. Dis ook goed vir n onderlaag. En Roosmaryn-tee kan gebruik word om hare gesond te hou en te laat groei, of meng n eiergeel met brandewyn daarvoor.Mans wat met n teer vel sit na elke skeer het ook uitkoms. Gebruik een eetlepel brandspiritus op drie eetlepels melk (nie poeiermelk nie) skud dit goed en gebruik as naskeermiddel. Die 'boere' het voorwaar raat vir alles. Selfs om dronkenskap op te klaar. Meng perdesweet met blou vitterjoel en gooi dit in die bottel brandewyn. Wat glo net so goed is, is om miereiers in die brandwyn te sit en dit vir so n ruk in die son te los.Die heel belangrikste is om alles goed te skud en dit dan weer op dieselfde plek terug te sit. Die persoon sal nooit weer te diep in die bottel kyk nie. Ek twyfel of van hierdie middele in n huisapteek sal wees. Net die kombinasies is skrikwekkend genoeg.

    Die Lydenburg Dienssentrum vir Bejaardes het bykans in al die items met die louere weggestap by die Poppie Marx Senior Sportdag in Nelspruit. Dienssentrums van Lydenburg, Witrivier, Waterval Boven / Machadodorp, Blikkies en Nelspruit het deelgeneem. Die dag is geborg deur Spar Laeveld wat ook al die kospakkies en geskenksakke geborg het. Dit was vol kruideniersware. Die dag vind plaas vir deelnemers van 65 jaar en bo. Lydenburg het gewen in die Aflos, Vinnigste stap, Drie-arm-resies), Kortbreuk (brei of hekel), Eier-en-lepel-resies, Seniorhokkie en die Guardian Angels Intertak-resies. Die dag is in samewerking met die Guardian Angels gerel.

    HE Wenakker building in Lydenburg was built in 1893 and was then used as a TCatholic Convent. Wenakker opened its

    doors in 1969 and today cares for 250 intellectually disabled adults. The building was declared a historical building and therefore the front facade of the building may not be changed. Because of the age of the building, the need for maintenance became a priority and donations towards the project made it possible to start with renovations. Verster Timber Havens is heading up the renovations and the Managing Director, Mr Riaan Verster, explains what the project involves: Front wall sand down all existing plaster (because of water damage), re-plaster and paint. New wooden floor on veranda. New ceiling on top floor veranda & replacing all railings. Damaged roof support will be replaced. A new ceiling will be installed on the bottom veranda. All filigree will be replaced and repainted.The belfry (clock) on the top of the building must be taken down and all the woodwork will be repaired and painted. Barko Hire have shown their support to the project by offering their crane to take down the top belfry for repairs.Current and new projects that are envisaged by Wenakker: Adopt a house Project: Any individual or company can get involved in any way they see fit in the maintenance or any other projects. You can adopt any one of the 14 resident houses by donating time, money or material in the project (or part thereof).     ZENZELLE sets a new target of 1 043m, with no injuries or incidents! This was barely a month after the team called Emergency, set a new record of 1 032m in May. Team Mandla did very well with a respectable 809m, not far behind the leaders in the production race! Mine overseer Dirk Fouch is very happy with his sections performance, as they produced 8 473m for the measuring month of June. This gives an average of 706m per crew. The whole section 4 did not have any injuries during this production period!Acting Business Area Leader, Nigel Reeder also added his say, by urging the rest of the shaft to try and better the Section 4 performance and keep up the safe production effort!

    reptiles, to handle and keep snakes and other reptiles in a safe and good environment. Since then, more than 5 000 students have been trained to catch and relocate snakes from developed areas.

    A while ago, a platinum mine close to Thabazimbi, Amandelbult Platinum, received a certificate for the most students trained on a mine. But now, Twickenham Platinum mine, received the latest Reptile Friendly Environment certificate for 62 students that were trained to catch and relocate snakes from the mine property.

    Audi wen (weer) op Le MansDIE tagtigste jaarlikse Le Mans 24 uur uithouwedren het weereens vir n skouspel gesorg wat my bykans die hele 24 uur voor die TV gehou het. Naas die Indianapolis 500 in die VSA, is die Le Mans uithouwedren die tweede grootste enkele sportgebeurtenis met die meeste kykers ter wreld. Groter as enige wreldbeker sokker, rugby, of die olimpiese spele.Hierdie jaar het Audi drie nuwe R18 E-Tron Quattro motors op die baan gehad asook verskeie van laasjaar se motors. Die top kategorie (LM P1 - Le Mans Prototipe 1) is vir top eksperimentele motors en dit is waar die industrie nuwe tegnologie toets en bekendstel. Al die Audis beskik oor 3.7 liter V6 diesels met n reuse varieerbare turbine, turbo. LM P1 motors haal tot 350 km / u op die Mulsanne reguit deel van die 13 kilometer renbaan. Peugeot het nie vanjaar deelgeneem nie, maar Toyota het vir groot opwinding (en aanvanklike kompetisie) gesorg met twee LM P1 TS 030 Hibriede Toyotas. Beide die Audis en Toyotas het oor n addisionele elektriese motor beskik wat die voorwiele afsonderlik aandryf as hulle wil versnel. Dit gebruik nie batterye nie, maar energieherwinningstegnologie as dit rem, wat daardie energie dan vir enkele sekondes na die elektriese motor kanaliseer. Die Toyotas het met petrolenjins deelgeneem en baie sterk vertoon, maar n reuse ongeluk het een afgeskryf en

    die ander het later in die wedren probleme ontwikkel. n Toyota enjin / Lola onderstel het wel vierde algeheel in LM P1 klaargemaak. Onthou, LM P1 is hoogs eksperimenteel. Dit was Audi se tiende wen in twaalf jaar en doen meer vir Audi in terme van bemarking as al hulle ander advertensies saam.In LM P2 (bietjie kleiner maar ook eksperimenteel) het n Honda aangedrewe HPD onderstel motor gewen.Die groot opwinding vir ons gewone ouens is natuurlik die twee GT klasse, waar motors jaag waarmee ons kan assosieer. In GTE (Pro) is die wreld se vinnigste supermotors en hier het n Ferrari 458 Italia met die louere weggejaag.In GTE (Am) was dit die gewone Ferraris, Aston Martin, Porsche en sulke motors wat gejaag het en Chevrolet Corvette het di klas ook vir die soveelste keer gewen. Die Chevys jaag natuurlik met die legendariese small block V8 enjin wat reeds byna 60 jaar gelede ontwerp is (een nokas in die blok en net twee kleppe per silinder, met geen VVTi, turbo of sulke tegnologie nie). Die enjin is net goed kwaad gemaak met hor kleplig en langer klepopeningtyd wat in die enkel nokas profiel geslyp is. Verder is dit inlaat en uitlaat werk wat die enjins hulle krag laat maak. If it works, don't fix it.Die Le Mans was voorwaar n wedren om te sien. Met ongelukke (een Toyota LM P1 het bykans 50 meter ver, hoog bokant die grond gevlieg), motors wat aan die brand raak en geweldige aktiwiteit in die kuipe waar die motors versien is.Elke motor het gemiddeld 13 rondtes tussen brandstofhervullings gedoen en 140 bande gebruik. Gemiddelde brandstofverbruik (selfs vir die haastige diesels) was 3 km / liter. Die statistiek rondom Le Mans laat n mens stomgeslaan! Andre Coetzee

Agterste beenruimte is uitstekend (beter as die meeste kompetisie) en die bagasiebak, hoewel bietjie vlak, is diep en sal n familie se bagasie maklik sluk. Onder die bagasiebak vloer is daar n volgroote spaarwiel.Binne is die materiale netjies met leersitplekke, elektriese ruite, 6-lugsakke, afstandbeheerde sentrale sluit, n radio / CD met AUX en USB en daar is volgens die literatuur tot 44 bereplekkies. Ek kon hulle nie almal tel nie, maar daar is baie!. Die sonskerms huisves groot spiels en daar is plek vir jou petrolkaart. Daar is misligte voor en die wiele is 18 duim magnesium eenhede. Daar is dubbel uitlaatpype en flikkerligte in die kantspiels.Die (kragstuur) stuurwiel het satellietkontroles en dit is op en af verstelbaar. Daar is togbeheer (cruise control), lugversorging, n ritrekenaar met brandstofverbruik informasie en digitale temperatuur en brandstofmeters. Die voertuig beskik oor ABS, ESP, FTCS, BAS, ARP, HSA en ESS.Skakel egter die tweeliter diesel outomatiese Korando D20T aan en die verassing is baie groot. Die 6-spoed ratkas het tikfunksie en stuurwielknoppies as jy dinge self wil doen, maar in outomatiese (Drive) modus werk dit net so goed. Versnelling is uit die boonste rakke en ratskakeling positief en glad. Die Korando loop soos n bom en trek soos n trein. Jy kan dit nie glo van n tweeliter turbodiesel nie. Teen 160 is die Korando uiters stabiel en boesem dit groot vertroue in.Remme (skywe op al vier wiele) is baie goed. Die veerstelsel is ferm, maar hanteer slegte paaie en draaie met gemak en gerief.     LEXUS makes the best-quality cars in the US, and automakers overall are much better at eliminating problems that land vehicles in the repair shop, according to a new JD Power survey of car owners. Toyota's luxury brand had the fewest problems per 100 vehicles in a survey of 2012 models by research firm JD Power and Associates in the US. The brand was followed by two other luxury carmakers, Jaguar and Porsche, which tied for second place. Cadillac and Honda rounded out the top five. Cars and trucks sold in the US had the highest quality since JD Power started doing the study in 1987. Still, quality was hurt by widespread glitches in technology such as touch-screen controls and voice-recognition software, said David Sargent, the firm's automotive vice president.Sargent said automakers have learned quality manufacturing techniques from top competitors, and they're using higher quality materials than in the past. Quality has improved so much during the past decade that the difference between the best and worst brands is less than one problem per vehicle, according to the study. Sargent said: "Everybody in the industry knows that if they don't keep improving, they're going to fall behind.In the US survey, JD Power asked 74 000 people who bought or leased 2012 models about how reliable their vehicles were and whether they had problems with knobs, switches, electronics and other items in the first 90 days of ownership.In the JD Power survey, the entire industry cut the number of problems per 100 vehicles by five to a score of 102.Lexus owners reported only 73 problems per 100 vehicles. Lexus wins consistently because quality and customer service have guided the brand since its first car went on sale in 1989, Sargent said. Cadillac was Detroit's top entry at fourth, and Honda was the highest-ranking mainstream brand at fifth.Italy's Fiat tied for last in quality with Mercedes' Smart brand. Both had 151 problems per 100 vehicles.Ford and Lexus had the top cars or trucks in three categories. Infiniti, Nissan and Toyota each won two categories.Sargent said the poor quality scores for new technology came because people had trouble adjusting to the devices, and because some of them don't operate right.

    Electronics are making their way from luxury to mainstream brands where they are new to people. "There are a lot of problems where the system just doesn't work as designed," Sargent said.Jaguar, went from 21st place last year to second this year, and Nissan, which improved 11 spots to tie for 12th. Jaguar was weighed down last year by problems with the XJ model, which was new for 2011. Fixing those problems vaulted the brand, which has only three models, toward the top, Sargent said. Nissan improved by hard work across all of its models, he said.Troubles with touch screens and automatic transmissions continued to hurt Ford, which finished 27th out of 34 brands in the survey. Ford was a star in 2010 at fifth place, but tumbled when it introduced its complicated MyFordTouch screens. Buyers also were annoyed with constant shifting by transmissions in small cars.     aspects of formulating an effective marketing campaign. Loubser said it is important to consider both the left and right brained clients.Left brain people tend to be more focussed on detail, numbers and facts whilst their counterparts, often considered to be more 'airy fairy' simply prefer visual effects, colours and pictures.Loubser also addressed the age old debate of 'should one invest more or less in marketing during tough economic times?'
