48 Hours in New Orleans

FALL IN LOVE. BE INSPIRED. TAKE A STEP BACK IN TIME.

Day One:

Start your day with breakfast at Brennan’s. Located in

the heart of the French Quarter it is just a short walk

from the hotel. With their traditional Southern Creole

cuisine and over the top service this spot is a must see

while in the Crescent City.

Make your way to the Bywater neighborhood to checkout Crescent Park. Take the steps over the train tracks into an urban garden along the Mississippi River. Get Instagram worthy photos from the top of the entrance and by the giant metal structure, each offering a breath taking view of the cityscape. As you head north on the park trail look up to the top of Rice Mill Building and get a friendly reminder that “You Are Beautiful”.

Head back to Canal Street and hop on the red streetcar line to City

Park. The line stops conveniently right in front of NOMA and The

Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Enjoy a stroll through the museum and

the garden. Each location offers unique and exquisite art collections

that are from both local and international artist.

For lunch check out a local favorite, Mopho. Located just

off of City Park, Mopho offers a twist of Vietnamese and

Southern cuisine. Just a short walk from the Sculpture

Garden, enjoy their take on chicken and waffles or one of

their famous pho flavors. In true New Orleans style they

also offer a delicious assortment of bubble tea cocktails.

Head back to the hotel and begin your evening with a

walk through the French Quarter to Cane and Table.

This hidden gem, located off Jackson Square, offers a

variety of hand crafted cocktails in a rustic colonial

atmosphere. If you’re in need of a pre-dinner bite we

suggest their rum ribs.

After enjoying a cocktail or two take a walk or even

a pedi cab to Paladar 511. New to the restaurant

scene, Paladar 511 serves up delicious Italian fare

with fresh local ingredients. They are best known

for their pizza with a variety of toppings and fine

cheeses in each slice.

Finish the evening with some live music. Just of few blocks

from Paladar 511 is the famous Frenchmen Street, lined with a

number of music clubs. Some we recommend are The Spotted

Cat Music Club, DBA, Snug Harbor and Blue Nile. Also take

some time to walk through the open air Art Market. Open until

2a.m. the market has an eclectic mix of jewelry, clothing, art

and other goods.

After breakfast go to the green streetcar line on St. Charles

Avenue and head towards the Garden District. Be sure to

have $3 cash handy to purchase a Jazzy Pass. This pass will

allow you unlimited rides for 24 hours.

Your first stop is on Washington Avenue. Once you exit the street car take a left down Washington

Avenue towards Magazine Street. You’ll find a wonder of beautiful homes and shops. Take a break

and stop in Garden District Books. The store is filled with Louisiana focused books as well as other

fiction and nonfiction reads. Grab a pick me up at Still Perkin’ for a coffee to go. This quaint coffee

shop serves New Orleans original Chicory Coffee.

This historic landmark was established in 1833. Stroll along the

ancient tombs on your own or with a guide that you can find by

the entrance.

local bird sanctuary is a popular spot to take a walk and bask in the beauty of enormous oak trees.
