4pm & 7pm

Each year when Summertime Players! rolls around, it brings with it the

same wonderful qualities that have been a part of the program for 13

years: youthful exuberance, lively singing , crazy dancing, new friend-

ships, lots of laughter and just plain fun!

This fully choreographed show, learned, memorized, and performed

in nine days is an amazing feat for me to witness. The speed in which

the kids learn and are taught by our incredible staff is in itself rather

remarkable - but, what is truly at the core of STP is what we see in

the days leading up to the performance. Each day, we have

watched kids with all different levels of talent and ability joining to-

gether to create something bigger than themselves. We have seen

kids from many different schools branching out, making new friends

and just having fun together. We have observed kids working hard to

learn and try out some new talents, and feeling safe and encouraged

to do so. With each day that leads up to the performance, we see

their confidence grow and the smiles just keep getting bigger and big-

ger!

STP naturally lends itself to “caring and sharing” with others and this

year was again no exception. The designated organization, Kody’s

Closet, whose mission is to offer free hygiene/personal care products

to underprivileged and at-risk youth is the perfect match for us. Kody’s

Closets are placed in over 15 different schools within the Twin Cities

area and serve a very real need in our communities. We were thrilled

to support an organization that specifically serves kids. The generosity

of our STP kids and their families was remarkable! As you will hear us

sing tonight, we are trying to live what we sing . . . . “I can change the

world with my own two hands, make it a better place, with my own

two hands.”

If you have a child in the show tonight, thank you for sharing them

with us this summer. If you know of someone that would love this type

of summer activity, we encourage you to give them these dates to-

day: Summertime Players! 2016 - July 1 1 -22. Thank you for coming

tonight and supporting these performers and their efforts. We hope

you catch the enthusiasm that each one of these kids has given us

over the past two weeks!
