    WHERE TO USE

    To protect fresh concrete from rapid waterevaporation caused by wind or sunlight and to

    reduce surface cracking.

    Some application examples

    Mapecure Eis especially recommended forprotecting concrete structures such as:

    industrial floors;

    exterior paving (roads, parking lots);

    airport runways;

    renders;

    dam faces;

    bridges;

    canals;

    reservoirs.

    TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

    Mapecure Eis a white water emulsion of special

    resins which forms an even slightly elastic film onconcrete that is impermeable to water and air.

    Mapecure Eprovides reliable protection against

    rapid evaporation of water in concrete, whetherexposed to direct sunlight or under severe rapiddrying conditions caused by wind, low humidity,or high ambient or concrete temperatures.

    Mapecure Eoffers the following advantages:

    better development of mechanical strength: theabsence of moisture in curing concrete can result

    in a loss of strength up to 50%;

    better resistance to wear;

    less surface dusting;

    less plastic shrinkage cracking;

    elimination of traditional methods of protectionsuch as water, wet burlap sacks, wet sand, etc.;

    fast and easy application;

    lower labour costs and more efficient job-sitemanagement.

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    Mapecure Einterferes with the bonding of any

    other finishing product. Its use is therefore notrecommended for curing concrete or renders when

    levelling or painting is required, (unless thoroughlycleaned with a bushhammer or by sanding to remove

    Brookfield viscosity (1 shaft - 50 revs.): < 70 (+23C)

    APPLICATION DATA

    Product as it is: ready for use

    Diluted product (dilution ratio): 1:1 by volume with water

    Application temperature: from +5C to +30C

    Tack-free time at +20C: 2-3 hours

    the product). If applied on horizontalsurfaces such as roads, parking lots andairport runways, in an amount higher thanallowed, and if not thoroughly removed,the surface could result as slippery forrubber tyre vehicles.

    Generally do not use Mapecure Eif it isnot removed before:

    the concrete is levelled with cementitiousmortars;

    the concrete or render is varnished orpainted over;

    for subsequent covering with ceramictiles, wood, rubber, etc.;

    construction joints for new over oldconcrete.

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE

    Mapecure Eshould be applied to thesurface of the concrete after bleeding. Forindustrial paving, Mapecure Emust be

    applied after the concrete has started to

    set.

    For concrete formwork Mapecure Emustbe applied immediately after stripping.

    Preparing the product

    Carefully mix Mapecure Ebefore applying.Mapecure Emay be used full-strength,or diluted in a ratio of 1:1 by volume with

    water, in which case, stir in water and mixthoroughly until even.

    Applying the product

    Apply Mapecure Ein one spray coat withapprox. 1 atmosphere of pressure in a thinand even layer. After approx. 2-3 hours at+20C Mapecure Eresists rain water.
