Lions Clubs International Foundation

Receives 4-Star Rating From Charity

Navigator

Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has earned its eighth consecutive 4

-star rating from Charity Navigator for its effective fiscal management and its

commitment to accountability and transparency.

A letter from Charity Navigator’s

President and CEO, Michael Thatcher,

stated, “Lions Clubs International Foundation’s 4-star rating sets it apart

from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public.” Mr.

Thatcher went on to state “only a quarter

of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive the distinction of our 4-star rating.

Based on its 4-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a

financially responsible and ethical charity

when they decide to support Lions Clubs International Foundation.

” LCIF Chairperson Gudrun Yngvadottir said, “I am proud of this milestone and

prouder still in the work LCIF is doing to

improve lives around the world. LCIF do-nors can be confident their donations are

being used in support of the programs for which they are intended.”

Remembrance Day Saanich Municipal Hall November 11th

Every year on November 11 Canadians pause in a silent moment of

remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve,

our country during times of war, conflict and peace.

More than 1,500,000 Canadians have

served our country in this way, and more than 100,000 have died.

They died for us, for their homes and families and friends, for a collection of

traditions they cherished and a future

they believed in; they died for Canada. They gave their lives and their futures

so that we may live in peace. We as the Saanich Lions Club will lay a

wreath during future ceremonies in honour of our Canadians who served

The event featured a marching contingent of the Greater Victoria Police

Pipe Band, 11 (Victoria) Field Ambulance, 39 Service Battalion Detachment

Victoria and the 3005 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps.

Military vehicles from the LGen E. C.

Ashton Armoury Ashton Museum were on display along Vernon Avenue.

The Reynolds Secondary School band

provided excellent music accompaniment

throughout the ceremony.

CLUB ADMINISTRATOR

In order to assist some club officers

who may have difficulty operating

certain technologies, LCI created the

role of “Club Administrator” to

support a club president or Secretary

with administrative tasks that are

completed through MYLCI/MyLion.

The Administrator has the same level

of access as the secretary and

president. The club administrator is

not a formal position recognized by

LCI, but functions to provide admin-

istrative assistance only.
