A Note from the Executive DirectorAs we near the end of 2013 and prepare for a new year the coming month brings a host of traditions that highlight what is important in our lives and put in perspective where the past year has taken us From small gatherings of family and friends to congregational or community events such as our Christmas concert at the Capitol Theatre music often serves as a common thread to bring us together and the Yakima Symphony Orchestra is honored to play a part in these annual celebrations

Another tradition at this time of year is the YSOs annual fund mail campaign While we welcome and encourage contributions year-round - and I offer special thanks to those who have already supported our annual fund this year particularly the members of our Conductors Circle - the end of the calendar year is often a convenient time to consider how our community resources enrich our lives I hope you will consider participating in this campaign in addition to your support as a member of our audience

After seven months with the YSO I consider myself fortunate to have found a home in a community that values music as Yakima does - not only in the quality of performances by our professional musicians but also in the simple joy of making music together I look forward to joining you in song at our next concert and I wish each of you a joyous holiday season -David Rogers
