October 20, 2013

Dear Parishioners,

What a year 2012-2013 has been for St. John Neumann parish! When I

celebrate Mass in our new church or step into our beautiful new Chapel or

have the opportunity to welcome yet another new parish family, I am in

awe of the many blessings we have been given and the many blessings we

have shared with others. As your Pastor, it is clear to me that the Holy

Spirit is watching over our community and working to bring our hearts

closer to God. Praise Jesus! We have so much to be thankful for: our

ministries are thriving, our commitment to helping the poor is unparalleled

and so is our desire to learn more about our faith.

Over the past year, we have seen an increase in the number of children

and adults enrolled in our religious education programs and our ever

expanding number of Bible studies. Each week we have over 50 adorers

scheduled for Adoration on Wednesdays and we expect that number to

grow with time as we expand the use of our Chapel. Through our ministry

work, our parish has helped over 6,500 people in the Diocese of Austin–

donating roughly 4,300 hours a year to help our less fortunate brothers

and sisters in Christ. We are known for our generosity— particularly for

the Catholic Services Appeal, St. Vincent de Paul, and second collections.

Together, we have made a tremendous impact on the lives of all who have

been touched.

Liturgically, we have experienced a healthy increase in the total number of

weekly Mass volunteers. We have doubled the number of trained Lectors

and have grown exponentially the number of Extraordinary Ministers of

Holy Communion. Altar Servers, Greeters, and Ushers have also seen an

increase. And, our Choir is now more than 30 strong. It is phenomenal

what we can do when we join together as a community to spread the

Word of God.

As you read through this report and reflect on the past year, I hope you

will not only remember the celebrations and special liturgies, but be

inspired to join your fellow parishioners and get involved at St. John

Neumann this year. My prayer is simply that you view St. John Neumann

as your spiritual home and that we will

continue to be good stewards of the gifts God

has entrusted to us.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Very Reverend Bud Roland

Financial Overview

These financial schedules present a summary of the

key financial results of our parish for the past two

fiscal years and our budget for the 2014 fiscal year.

2013 was the first full fiscal year that we have been

in the new church. The increased offertory

contribuons were the result of increased

aBendance in the new church at weekend Masses

and your generous response to our We are SJN

Increased Offertory Campaign. The increase in

expenses reflect the growth in our parish and the

addional occupancy and financing costs related to

the new church.

Now that the structure for the new church is

completed, we are in the process of preparing a

Strategic Master Plan for our campus to

accommodate the facility needs of our growing

parish for many years to come. As a result of the

increased offertory in fiscal year 2013, we were able

to set aside $224,166 as a reserve for future capital

needs related to our campus. This is a great

start. Moreover, we are looking to connue to grow

this reserve account as more and more parishioners

support our appeal for increased offertory giving.

We are truly thankful for our many blessings and to

be part of a parish community that is so dynamic

and growing. Your Finance Council will connue to

work with the parish staff and leadership to assist in

managing the financial resources that fund the

growth of our parish. We connue to rely on your

generous support in terms of your giEs of me,

talent, and treasure. May God bless you for the

sacrifices you make to nurture the Catholic faith of

our parish.
