• A new approach for planning and forecasting the diffusion of new product features– Generally applicable, mobile handsets as an example

• Unique combination of unit sales and base data– Monthly unit sales of all handset models in Finland (GfK)– Yearly installed bases of all handset models in Finland– Yearly discards calculated based on the previous– Handset lifetime estimated based on sales and discards
