The  intention  of  this  project  wasto  create  a  lecture  hall,  and  includeto  create  a  lecture  hall,  and  includevarious  design  technologies  suchas  photovoltaics,  a  green  roof,  and  away  to  reduce  heating  and  cooling  loads.

Photovoltaic  cladding  is  placed  on  thesouth  facing  facade  to  obtain  the  optimum  amount  of  sunlight.

Fabricationof  theArchetypeI  took  elements  of  all  three  archetypemodels  and  formed  a  model  that  was  based  on  both  the  Temple  and  Bridge  with  gatehouse  archetype.with  gatehouse  archetype.

Red  is  used  to  celebrate  the  two  strong  axis  within  the  model.

Black  plays  a  supportive  role,grey  plays  a  submissive  role,and  white  plays  a  dominate  rolewithin  the  model.

The  mission  of  this  project  was  to  design  a  

complex  of  buildings  within  the  campus  of  George  complex  of  buildings  within  the  campus  of  George  

Washington  University  that  caters  to  the  Center  

for  Religious  Studies.  The  outlined  program  

asked  for  a  non-­denominational  worship  center,  

a  chapel,  a  community  mission  center,  a  

religious  studies  education  center,  and  lastly,  

a  religious  studies  housing  area.

The  concept  behind  the  Center  for  Religious  The  concept  behind  the  Center  for  Religious  

Studies  is  to  honor  the  Sun.  I  have  an  incision  

that  runs  true  East  to  true  West  and  separates  

the  Worship  Space  and  the  Mission  Center.  It  

represents  the  beginning  (Sunrise)  and  

the  end  (Sunset)    Alpha  and  Omega.

The  Parametric  Bench  Competition  at  SA+ETFlorida  A&M  University

Design  Competition  |  Fall  2014

This  was  a  design  competition  within  our  School  of  Architecture.  The  concept  that  our  team  of  three  designed  was  that  our  team  of  three  designed  was  chosen  as  the  overall  winner.  The  images  that  you  see  are  of  a  small  scale  mock-­up  designed  by  our  team  in  Rhino  and  cut  using  a  laser  cutter.  

The  physical  bench  is  currently  beingbuilt  and  will  become  a  permanent  fixture  within  the  Architecture  buildingfixture  within  the  Architecture  buildingat  Florida  A&M  University
